Disinfection Cleaning across the West Midlands
Disinfection only works if three things are true: the surface was clean first, the product is proven against the organism you care about, and it stayed wet for its full contact time. Skip any one of them and you have applied a fragrance. Most of the disappointing disinfection work we are called in to redo across the region failed on the third point — sprayed and immediately wiped, which is roughly a tenth of the required dwell.
We work to that sequence in order. Soil removal first, because organic matter deactivates most virucidal chemistry on contact. Then a product with a tested EN 14476 claim applied at the label dilution. Then the clock: nothing is wiped, ventilated or reoccupied until the stated contact time has actually elapsed, and that time goes on the paperwork.
The work splits into two shapes. Touch-point disinfection targets the surfaces hands actually meet — door furniture, handrails, switches, shared keyboards, intercoms, lift buttons, taps and flush plates — and is what most offices, gyms and schools need on a repeat cycle. Whole-space fogging with an ULV applicator covers everything including soft furnishings and is the right answer after a confirmed illness, a void property or a building that has stood closed.
Every visit ends with a certificate: rooms treated, product name and EN standard, dilution, contact time observed, operator, and a safe re-entry time. HMOs and shared houses across B29, B16 and WV1
Shared houses in Selly Oak, Ladywood and around Wolverhampton's City Campus concentrate risk in three places: the shared kitchen, the shared bathroom and the front door furniture. One norovirus case in a six-bed house typically becomes four within a week, and it travels on handles rather than through the air.
For those properties we run a touch-point round through the whole house plus a fog of the affected bedroom and the shared bathroom, and we schedule it for a time when the house is genuinely empty. Void properties and buildings that have stood closed

Q3.How long before we can go back in?
Typically 45 to 60 minutes after fogging with normal ventilation, and immediately after a touch-point round once surfaces are dry. Each room gets a written re-entry time, because ceiling height and airflow change the answer.
Q4.Do you clean before disinfecting?
Always. Organic soil deactivates virucidal chemistry on contact, so disinfecting a dirty surface achieves close to nothing. If the space needs a full clean first we will price that separately rather than pretending the fog covers it.
Q5.Is fogging safe around electronics and soft furnishings?
Yes at the droplet size and dilution we use. We cover open server racks and unsealed instruments as a precaution, and we do not fog directly into live equipment. Soft furnishings, carpets and curtains are treated as intended targets, not collateral.
Q6.Can you work out of hours?
Most of our commercial work is evenings, weekends or overnight, with keyholding and alarm codes agreed in advance. There is no out-of-hours premium on contract work.
