What we build

Every flat pack in the house, not just the easy ones

If it arrived in a box with a hex key taped inside, we build it. The jobs that go wrong are rarely the complicated ones — they're the tall, thin carcasses that were never squared before the back panel went on.

Wardrobes and bedroom furniture

Sliding and hinged wardrobes, chests, bedsides, dressing tables and mirrored units — built square, back panels pinned, doors aligned before we leave.

Home office and study

Desks, standing-desk frames, filing pedestals, bookcases and cable management, positioned so the drawers clear the wall and the monitor arm has something solid to bite into.

Living and dining

TV units, sideboards, shelving runs, dining tables and chairs, including the fiddly cam-lock carcasses that go out of square at step three.

Children's furniture

Bunk beds, cabin beds, cots and toy storage assembled to the manufacturer's safety notes, with anti-tip restraints fitted to anything tall.

Kitchen and utility cabinets

Base and wall units, handle alignment and soft-close adjustment so doors sit level across the whole run.

Old furniture removed

The unit you're replacing can be dismantled and taken away on the same visit under a licensed waste transfer note.

Included in every fixed price

  • Squareness and level checked at every stage, not just at the end
  • Back panels pinned properly so the carcass keeps its shape
  • Wall restraints fitted to anything tall or top-heavy
  • Hinges, handles, runners and soft-close adjusted before sign-off
  • Floor protection down before the first box is opened
  • Packaging flattened, removed and recycled
  • Damaged-in-transit parts photographed for your retailer claim
  • Fitters DBS-checked and covered by £5m public liability insurance

How it works

Four steps from boxes to a usable room

  1. 01 / Photograph

Send a photo of the boxes

One picture of the labels — or your retailer order list — is enough. The brand and model tell us the build sequence and realistic timing.

  2. 02 / Fixed price

Get a fixed price in writing

You get a figure for the visit, not an hourly gamble, confirmed before anyone travels. Access, parking and floor level are agreed at the same time.

  3. 03 / Build

    We build, level and secure

Floor protection down, carcass squared, back panel pinned, restraints fitted to anything that could tip. Doors and drawers adjusted last.

  4. 04 / Clear up

    Packaging gone, furniture usable

Cardboard and polystyrene flattened and taken for recycling, hardware bagged, and a walk-round before we ask you to sign off.

Brands we build

Every retailer, including the awkward ones

Brand matters because the build sequence and the failure points differ. Cam-lock carcasses need squaring early; dowel-and-glue units need clamping; sliding-door wardrobes live or die on a level track.

Why Hello Services

The difference is in the parts you can't see

Fixed price, not an hourly meter

The most common complaint about assembly labour is the clock. We price the visit from your photos, so a stubborn cam lock is our problem, not your invoice.

Built to last, not just built

Cam-lock furniture racked out of square at step three fails at the back panel and never comes right. Squaring and pinning is where our time goes.

Safe around children

Anti-tip restraints are fitted as standard to tall and top-heavy units, and children's beds are built to the manufacturer's safety notes.

No cardboard mountain

Packaging leaves with us and is recycled. You get a usable room back the same day rather than a hallway full of flattened boxes.

Vetted, insured fitters

Every fitter is DBS-checked and covered by £5m public liability insurance, with damage handled directly by us.

Missing parts handled

Damaged or missing hardware is photographed and documented on the spot so your retailer claim goes through, and we return to finish with no second call-out charge.

Coverage

Where we build flat pack furniture

Greater Manchester is our deepest coverage: 10 boroughs and 135 named areas, each with its own page, local prices, parking notes and property stock — not one regional page pretending to be local.

Questions

Flat pack assembly FAQs

  • How much does flat pack assembly cost?

A single small item such as a bedside or chest of drawers starts at £59, a large single item like a wardrobe or bunk bed from £89, a half-day list of three or four items from £119, and a full-day build from £229. The price is fixed from a photo of your boxes before we travel, so there is no hourly meter.

  • Do you assemble furniture from any retailer?

Yes — IKEA, Argos, Habitat, Wayfair, Dunelm, John Lewis, Made, Amazon, Next, B&Q and marketplace or returns-pallet furniture. Send a photo of the label and we'll confirm the price and the realistic build time for that exact model.

  • How long does flat pack assembly take?

A bookcase or bedside is usually under an hour, a double wardrobe around two, and a full bedroom drop-off most of a day. We confirm the timing with your fixed price so you know how much of the day to set aside.

    Link to this answer
  • Do you fit anti-tip wall restraints?

Yes, as standard on anything tall or top-heavy, including children's furniture. We identify the wall type first — plasterboard, dot-and-dab, masonry or stud — and use the right fixing rather than the generic screw in the box.

  • What happens if a part is missing or damaged in the box?

We photograph and document it on the spot so your retailer claim goes through cleanly, build everything we can, and return to finish once the replacement part arrives with no extra call-out charge.

    Link to this answer
  • Will you take the packaging and my old furniture away?

Packaging is flattened, removed and recycled on every visit at no extra cost. Old furniture can be dismantled and taken away on the same visit, disposed of under a licensed waste transfer note rather than left on the pavement.

    Link to this answer
  • Can you assemble furniture the same day or at the weekend?

Often yes. We hold same and next-day slots across most of our coverage, including evenings and weekends, so a delivery that lands on Friday doesn't have to sit in the hallway until Monday.

    Link to this answer
  • Do I need to be there for the whole visit?

You only need to let us in and agree where each item goes. Many customers leave us to it and come back for the walk-round and sign-off at the end.
