Guest floors are never fully closed
Even a major refurbishment usually leaves adjacent floors trading, so lift access has to be shared with guests and housekeeping trolleys rather than blocked off for a full day. We book lift slots and corridor protection in advance so a strip-out never collides with checkout.
The loading bay is the other constraint — most central London hotels have one bay serving deliveries, laundry and waste, and a suspended kerbside bay is usually the only alternative when a refit needs a dedicated vehicle for several days.
