Domestic prices are the total you pay. Commercial and landlord invoices are quoted plus VAT at 20%. ULEZ, the Congestion Charge where it applies, permits and bay suspensions are itemised in the written quote, never added afterwards.
Working in London
Borough bulky waste collections typically run one to three weeks out and give you a date, not a time. If the new sofa arrives on Saturday, that does not help you.
We book a slot against your delivery window, so the old piece is out of the room and in the van before the new one comes up the stairs.
Most council services need the item left on the kerb, which is unlawful to do early on many London streets and impossible if you cannot carry it down alone.
Our price includes the carry from wherever it stands — third-floor walk-up, basement conversion or a block where the lift is too short for a wardrobe.
Sofas, armchairs and other upholstered seating are handled as POPs waste and must go to incineration with energy recovery rather than landfill or general recycling. That is a legal requirement, and it carries a specific gate fee.
It is also why an unusually cheap sofa collection should worry you: the cost of doing it properly does not go away, so somebody is dumping it.
Furniture in usable condition is offered to London reuse partners before disposal is even considered — it costs you nothing and keeps a working sofa out of the waste stream.
Everything else is separated for timber, metal, mattress shredding and POPs. You get a waste transfer note showing our Environment Agency registration and where the load went.
