Domestic prices are the total you pay. Commercial and landlord invoices are quoted plus VAT at 20%. ULEZ, the Congestion Charge where it applies, permits and bay suspensions are itemised in the written quote, never added afterwards.
Working in London
A skip permit application plus a bay suspension routinely takes a week across inner London boroughs, and in a controlled parking zone there may be nowhere legal to place it at all.
A booked collection needs neither: the van parks briefly, the crew loads, and the waste is gone within the hour with the transfer note in your hand.
Bathroom strip-outs on third-floor conversions, rear extensions behind a side return and basement digs all mean the waste has to be carried before it can be loaded.
That carry is inside the price. Nothing has to be dragged out to the pavement in advance, and communal routes are sheeted first because a block will charge dust damage back to the leaseholder.
Plasterboard mixed into general construction waste gets a load rejected or surcharged at the gate, and rejected loads are re-charged to whoever produced the waste.
We split gypsum, inert rubble, timber and mixed waste on the floor before loading, so what arrives at the station is what it was booked as.
If construction waste from your job is fly-tipped, enforcement traces back to the producer, not the person who took it away, unless they were licensed.
Every collection leaves with a waste transfer note in your name showing our carrier registration number — the document a building control officer or a client's QS will ask for.

Usually, once the borough permit and bay suspension are counted, and always faster: a skip permit can take a week in inner London while a collection is normally next-day. You also only pay for the volume that leaves, not for a skip standing half empty.
Yes, but it must be kept separate. Gypsum cannot go into a mixed cell, so we load it on its own and take it to a dedicated facility. Mixing it in is what gets a load surcharged or rejected at the gate.
Yes. Two crew load from wherever the waste is, including upper-floor conversions and basements, with the hallway, stairs and lift lobby sheeted first. There is no charge for the carry.
No. Asbestos in any form — insulation board, textured coating or cement sheet — needs a licensed removal contractor and, for licensed work, an air clearance certificate. If we suspect it on site we stop and tell you before anything is disturbed.
