Domestic prices are the total you pay. Commercial and landlord invoices are quoted plus VAT at 20%. ULEZ, the Congestion Charge where it applies, permits and bay suspensions are itemised in the written quote, never added afterwards.
Working in London
Placing a skip on a public highway anywhere in London needs a council permit, and in a controlled parking zone that usually means suspending the bay it stands in as well — both can take several working days to arrange and cost more than the skip itself.
A van collection needs neither. We park where we are legally allowed, or arrange the bay suspension ourselves and show it as a line in the quote, and the rubbish is gone the same visit.
Most boroughs' free or paid bulky-waste rounds are booked one to three weeks ahead and cap the number of items per visit — workable for a single old chair, not for a garage clear-out or a fixed moving date.
We collect on the day you choose, take the full volume in one visit, and are not limited by a per-booking item cap.
If rubbish handed to an unlicensed collector is later found dumped, the fixed penalty and prosecution route London councils use targets whoever produced the waste, not the person who took it. Verifying a carrier's Environment Agency registration before handing rubbish over is the only real protection.
Every load we take leaves with a waste transfer note naming our registration number, the transfer station and the weight — the document that answers that question if it is ever asked.
A large share of London's housing stock is flats above the ground floor with no lift, so a quarter-load from a third-floor conversion in Hackney or Lambeth takes longer to carry than the same load from a ground-floor maisonette.
