Two Essex housing types dominate this work and they need opposite approaches. On the newer estates around Chelmsford, Colchester, Braintree and Beaulieu Park, walls are typically dot-and-dab plasterboard on block: there is a solid substrate behind, but the 20 to 40mm cavity means a standard plasterboard fixing will pull straight out of a loaded PAX. The right fix is a long anchor into the block behind, which is exactly the fixing not included in the box.

In the older parts of the county — Saffron Walden, Coggeshall, Kelvedon, Maldon and the Colchester Dutch Quarter — the walls may be lath and plaster, timber frame or soft historic brick, and drilling blind risks both the wall and the wardrobe. We detect and probe before drilling, and carry toggle, resin and timber fixings alongside standard anchors so a job never ends with a shrug about the wall type.

    Yes — collection from the Thurrock store or a delivery point can be added as a van and mover job alongside the assembly, which is usually cheaper than paying delivery plus a separate assembly visit.
