Blinds & Curtain Fitting across Essex

Essex windows are the awkward part: Victorian bays in Southend, Westcliff and Colchester that need a curved track, sash reveals too shallow for a standard bracket, and steel or concrete lintels on new builds that stop an ordinary drill bit dead.

Hello Services handyman drilling a bracket to fit a roller blind above a living-room window
Our own crews and equipment — no stock photography, no subcontractors.

Why Essex customers book us

Bay windows measured and tracked properly

Curved and angled bays get a bent track or correctly jointed pole, not three separate poles pretending to be one.

Lintels, plasterboard and timber all handled

Steel lintels above new-build windows need the right bit and anchor. So do shallow sash reveals in period Essex terraces. We carry both.

Child-safe as standard

Cord and chain safety devices fitted and secured to the wall on every blind, as the safety standard requires.

Whole-house fits in one visit

A half or full day usually covers an entire property, which is far cheaper than a per-window price list.

How booking works

  1. 1

Count the windows and the type

Bay, standard, reveal or face-fix, and whether the blinds and poles are already bought. That sets the time.

  2. 2

Half day or full day booked

Most Essex houses are a half day; a full house with bays and heavy curtains is a full day. Quoted before we arrive.

  3. 3

    Fitted, levelled, tested

Every blind operated and adjusted, curtains hung and dressed, safety devices fitted and the room cleared.

I had a deep cleaning service done at my home on Sunday, and I am extremely impressed with the results. The team (two ladies and a man) did an excellent job cleaning the entire house, including the kitchen, kitchen hob, window blinds, bedroom wardrobes, and mirrors. They made sure there was no dirt or marks… Read in full →

I booked a deep clean and added a few other services to it - carpet cleaning, sofa cleaning, blinds, oven, hob and extractor fan cleaning. Adriana came on time and got started straight away. Her colleague joined her slightly afterwards and got stuck in too. They were both so thorough and did an amazing job!… Read in full →

Blinds & Curtain Fitting in Essex

Window type in Essex divides almost perfectly by age of housing. The seafront and town-centre terraces of Southend, Westcliff, Leigh and Colchester are full of Victorian bays and original sashes, where the reveal is often too shallow for an inside-fit bracket and the bay needs a genuinely curved track. Those jobs take longer, and quoting them per window rather than per hour would either overcharge the simple rooms or undercharge the bay.

New-build Essex has the opposite problem: dead-square uPVC windows, but a steel or dense concrete lintel directly above them that will destroy an ordinary masonry bit and refuse a standard plug. On estates around Chelmsford, Colchester, Braintree and Basildon we plan for that with the correct bits and anchors as standard, and where a lintel genuinely cannot be drilled we fit to the ceiling instead and explain why.

Essex questions

Blinds & Curtain Fitting in Essex — your questions.

  • Can you fit blinds in a bay window?

Yes — either individual blinds per pane or a curved track for curtains. Bays are measured pane by pane because they are almost never symmetrical, particularly in Victorian Essex terraces.

  • Do I need to buy the blinds first?

It is usually best to have them on site, measured to the window. If you have not ordered yet, we can measure first so the sizes are right — a common source of expensive mistakes on reveal fits.

  • Can you fit blinds without drilling the frame?

Yes, using perfect-fit frames on uPVC or face-fixing above the reveal. That matters in rentals and on new windows where drilling the frame can affect a guarantee.

  • What if there is a steel lintel above the window?

We carry the bits and anchors for it. Where the lintel cannot be safely drilled we fix into the ceiling or the reveal side instead, and we explain the option before making any hole.

  • Are the blinds child safe?

Yes. Cord and chain safety devices are fitted and anchored to the wall on every blind as standard, in line with the safety regulations.
