That split shapes how we schedule. Chelmsford, Colchester, Southend-on-Sea and Basildon are the volume markets, and each has a different access problem: riverside apartment blocks in Chelmsford with 2.0m car-park barriers, the narrow Dutch Quarter lanes and June/September student changeovers in Colchester, permit-only cliff roads in Southend, and Basildon's new-town courts where the front door is 20–40 metres from the nearest place a Luton can legally stop. We survey those constraints when we quote rather than discovering them on the day, which is why our Essex prices are fixed before a crew is booked.
Waste disposal follows Essex rules, not ours. Essex County Council operates a pre-booked slot system across its 21 recycling centres, made permanent in 2024, with additional permit conditions for vans and trailers, and the unitary authorities at Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock run their own separate sites and schemes — check current council guidance for the rules that apply on the day you visit. Trade waste is never accepted on a household permit, so every clearance we run in Essex leaves on our own waste-carrier licence (CBDU300454) with a transfer note issued to you — no booking, no permit and no tip run at your end.
Commuter-belt timing matters too. Weekday mornings near Shenfield, Billericay, Witham and Rayleigh stations are saturated before 08:00, and the Dartford Crossing charge applies to any Thurrock job that crosses the river. We build both into the quote up front instead of adding them afterwards.
