Office relocation in Monton

Move the office, keep the week

Relocating a workplace inside M30 is a logistics job, not a van job. Our office moving services in Monton start with a walk-round, an inventory and a floor plan, then run to a timed schedule — crates delivered a week ahead, IT bagged and port-labelled, desks rebuilt to the new plan before the lights go back on.

Canal-side Eccles village with a well-known independent high street and a much-photographed lighthouse. We survey the loading route around The Monton lighthouse on the Bridgewater Canal first, because the walk-in distance and the lift wait are what actually set the crew size on office removals Monton jobs.

Salford City Council sets the loading, permit and waste rules here, so bays, dock slots and waste transfer notes are arranged before the move date. RAMS and insurance certificates go to both building managers with your confirmation.

Teams booking this in Monton usually add office cleaning in Monton and commercial cleaning in Monton to the same job. We run the same office removals crews next door in Swinton and Pendlebury, and across the region from our Greater Manchester hub.

Three steps, no downtime

How an Monton office move works

  1. 1. Book a free survey

Tell us desk numbers, floors and both addresses. A surveyor visits your Monton office — usually within 48 hours — and records the inventory, the lift, the doors and the loading route.

  2. 2. Approve the fixed plan

You get one fixed price, a timed schedule, the crate delivery date and RAMS for both buildings. Nothing changes on the night unless you add to the inventory.

  3. 3. We move out of hours

Crates land a week ahead. The move runs evening, overnight or across a weekend, desks are rebuilt to plan and IT reconnected, so Monton staff walk into a working floor.

What the fixed price buys

What is included in Monton

Free pre-move survey

A surveyor walks both your Monton floor and the destination, measures the lift, the doors and the loading route, and writes the inventory the fixed price is built on.

Crates, bags and sleeves

Lidded crates, IT bags, monitor sleeves, trolleys and labels delivered a week ahead, collected after — the first week's hire is inside the quote.

Out-of-hours crews

Evening, overnight and weekend slots so Monton staff never lose a trading day. Weekend work is priced in, never charged as a premium.

Dismantle and rebuild

Desks, benches, pedestals, storage walls and screens taken down and rebuilt to your new floor plan, with fixings bagged per item.

IT relocation

Workstations, monitors and peripherals unplugged, bagged and port-labelled, then reconnected at the correct desk positions ready for log-in.

Access and permits

Goods lifts, docks and Salford City Council loading bays booked in advance, with RAMS and insurance certificates issued to both building managers.

Confidential handling

Archive boxes, filing and secure records moved under a sealed, numbered manifest with a signed handover at the far end.

Clear-out and recycling

Old furniture, WEEE and shredded paper removed on the way out so your Monton lease hands back empty — with waste transfer notes.

Monton office removals FAQs

  • How much do office removals cost in Monton?

A micro office of up to five desks starts at £420, six to ten desks from £650, and ten to thirty desks from £1,450. A full floor of 30–60 desks starts at £3,200. UK market rates for the same work typically run £500–£1,200 for a small office and £3,000–£10,000 for a large one, so we quote at or below the middle of the range — and always as a fixed price after a free Monton survey. Booked most often on the M30 streets around The Monton lighthouse on the Bridgewater Canal.

  • Can you move our Monton office over a weekend or overnight?

Yes, and it is our default. Most Salford relocations run Friday evening to Sunday afternoon so your team returns to a rebuilt, reconnected floor on Monday. Out-of-hours work is priced into the fixed quote rather than added as a premium. Salford City Council loading rules on the M30 end are checked before the slot is confirmed.

  • Can you move us over a weekend?

Yes — most Greater Manchester office moves run Friday evening to Sunday so staff return to a working floor on Monday. Weekend work is priced into the fixed quote, not added as a premium. Priced the same whether you are moving inside Monton or across to Eccles.

  • Do you supply RAMS for the building manager?

Yes. A method statement, risk assessment and our liability certificate are issued with the booking confirmation, addressed to both the outgoing and incoming building managers. Local context matters here: grew around the bridgewater canal and the old monton green; the lighthouse is a 1990s folly built on the towpath, which is why the access varies so much between neighbouring streets.

  • Who handles the IT?

Our crews unplug, bag and port-label workstations, monitors and peripherals, then reconnect them at the new desk positions. Server racks and comms cabinets are moved with your IT provider on site for the power-down and power-up. Crews run from Salford, so Eccles and Worsley journeys carry no out-of-area charge.

  • Is there anything you cannot move out of Monton?

Pianos, safes, American fridges, gym equipment and large glass units all move, but they are quoted at survey because they need extra crew or kit. Paint, fuel, gas bottles and perishables we cannot legally carry — Eccles customers usually clear those with the same booking. • How long does a office move in Monton usually take?

Most M30 office relocations finish inside a working day. Floor level, lift availability and carry distance change that more than the size of the property, which is why we time the job from the survey rather than the bedroom count. Salford City Council loading rules on the M30 end are checked before the slot is confirmed.

  • Do you cover the areas around Monton?

Yes — Eccles, Worsley, Swinton, Pendlebury, Boothstown and every other Greater Manchester district, each with its own office removals page and the same fixed pricing. In Monton that usually means a lift booking and a timed loading bay before the crew sets off.

    Link to this answer
  • How far in advance should we book an office move in Monton?

Three to four weeks is comfortable for up to thirty desks, and six to eight weeks for a full floor with phased IT. Short-notice Monton moves are often possible — we hold weekend capacity back for exactly that. Booked most often on the M30 streets around The Monton lighthouse on the Bridgewater Canal.

    Link to this answer
  • Can you handle the stairs and access in apartment blocks around The Monton lighthouse on the Bridgewater Canal?

Lift bookings and loading-bay slots decide the day here: we confirm the concierge window before the crew leaves the depot, and carry protection for lift cars and communal carpet as standard. Send a short video of the stairwell and the street and we will confirm crew size before the date is held. Salford City Council loading rules on the M30 end are checked before the slot is confirmed.

  • Do I need a parking permit or bay suspension in Monton?

Often, yes — Salford City Council controls loading on most M30 streets. We check your street at survey and, where a suspension saves a long carry, we apply for it and show the cost in the quote before you accept it. Roughly 3,300 households sit inside these postcodes, so weekend dates here go early.

Access, parking and timing

Loading in Monton: what the crew plans for

Victorian and Edwardian villas along Monton Road, interwar semis on the side streets and canal-side apartment conversions. That stock, the street it sits on and the Salford City Council rules over it decide how long the day takes — so all three are settled at survey, not on the morning.

Traffic and start times

Canal-side Eccles village with a well-known independent high street and a much-photographed lighthouse. Loads out of here run best on an early start, before the Salford school and commuter peak closes the approach roads. We plan the route with that in mind rather than quoting an optimistic drive time. Crews run from Salford, so Eccles and Worsley journeys carry no out-of-area charge.

The four things that change the price

A five-minute video walk-through covering every room, the stairwell and the street is enough to fix the price. Anything you add later is quoted before we start, never after loading. Salford City Council loading rules on the M30 end are checked before the slot is confirmed.

Doorways, stairs and lifts in Monton

Blocks in this part of Salford run one goods lift and a timed bay. We book both at survey, and if the lift is out the quote already carries the stair-carry hours rather than adding them on the day. Priced the same whether you are moving inside Monton or across to Eccles.

Where the van stands on the day

Salford City Council sets the loading, suspension and permit rules across M30. Where a bay suspension is needed near The Monton lighthouse on the Bridgewater Canal we apply for it in advance and the cost sits in the written quote, not on an invoice afterwards. Priced the same whether you are moving inside Monton or across to Eccles.

Jobs we run most often in Monton

If one of these looks like yours, say so when you enquire — we will quote it from the closest job we have already done in Salford rather than starting from a blank form.

Evening and weekend crews

Out-of-hours office move in Monton

Crated Friday evening, moved overnight, desks and IT live for Monday — the sequence most Salford tenants book so no trading day is lost. In Monton that usually means a lift booking and a timed loading bay before the crew sets off.

Priced per desk

Desk moves and internal churn

Reconfiguring a floor rather than leaving the building: benches broken down, relabelled and rebuilt overnight to a numbered floor plan. Priced the same whether you are moving inside Monton or across to Eccles.

Move plus clearance

Lease-end exit with clearance

What moves, moves; what does not is cleared under waste transfer notes and the space handed back to the dilapidations spec in one booking. Priced the same whether you are moving inside Monton or across to Eccles.

RAMS supplied

Serviced-office and lift-restricted buildings

Goods-lift slots, building inductions and RAMS for the managing agent are arranged in advance, with the loading bay near The Monton lighthouse on the Bridgewater Canal booked for the window we are given. Roughly 3,300 households sit inside these postcodes, so weekend dates here go early.

Before you book

What you are actually agreeing to

Before you pay a deposit anywhere, check the quote answers these four questions. Ours does, in writing, before your Monton date is held.

The price cannot move on the day

Access, stair turns, parking and carry distance are all priced at survey. If nothing is added to the inventory, the M30 figure you accepted is the figure you pay.

Dates that move

Your load stays sealed and insured overnight for a fixed fee and delivers first thing — we do not unload onto a driveway or re-quote the second day at short-notice rates.

If something goes wrong

Goods-in-transit and public liability cover is in place on every Monton office relocation, and claims go to a named account manager here rather than a form.

Talk to someone local

Call 020 3633 4555 and ask what a office move like yours costs from £650. If a cheaper option fits better — a smaller van, an hourly booking, a different day — we will say so.

Booked with your office move

A move in Salford is rarely just a van. These are the jobs our Monton crews are asked for in the same week — clearing what is not worth transporting, packing, reinstating shelves and fixings, and getting both properties clean — each on its own page with its own pricing.

Four weeks before — book and confirm

  • Confirm the move date and slot for your Monton address in writing.
  • Book the van size against your property type — Victorian and Edwardian villas along Monton Road, interwar semis on the side streets and canal-side apartment conversions.
  • Check whether Salford City Council needs a parking dispensation or suspended bay on your street.
  • Tell your landlord or agent the exact handover date and key-return time.
  • Book any end-of-tenancy or pre-move-in clean for the day either side of the move.
  • Start using up freezer food, cleaning products and anything that cannot travel.

Two weeks before — paperwork and access

  • Apply for the Salford City Council permit or bay suspension (allow 5–10 working days).
  • Book the lift or service entrance if your building near The Monton lighthouse on the Bridgewater Canal has one.
  • Redirect post and update your address on the M30 electoral roll, bank and insurance.
  • Notify energy, water, broadband and council tax with opening and closing dates.
  • Register with a new GP, dentist and vet if you are leaving the area.
  • Arrange school transfers or nursery notice periods.

One week before — pack room by room

  • Label every box with the destination room, not the room it came from.
  • Pack a 'first night' box: kettle, mugs, chargers, bedding, toilet roll, medication.
  • Photograph the back of the TV and any flat-pack you are dismantling.
  • Drain the washing machine and fit its transit bolts.
  • Dispose of paint, oils and garden waste through the Salford City Council tip — the crew cannot legally load them.
  • Set aside valuables, passports and jewellery to travel with you.

The day before — final prep

  • Charge phones and keep a paper copy of the crew's number and the new address.
  • Defrost the fridge-freezer and towel it dry.
  • Take meter readings at the old property and photograph them.
  • Put cones or bins out to hold the loading space if Monton parking is tight.
  • Bag bedding and clothes, and strip the beds you are taking.
  • Confirm arrival window with the crew and the key-collection time with the agent.

Moving day — loading

  • Walk the crew through the property and flag fragile and do-not-load items.
  • Protect carpets, stair noses and door frames before the first box moves.
  • Load heavy furniture first, boxes second, soft furnishings last.
  • Keep the first-night box and paperwork with you, not in the van.
  • Check lofts, sheds, the garden and every cupboard before the van leaves.
  • Final meter readings, lock up and hand back keys.

Moving day — unloading and sign-off

  • Direct each box to its labelled room as it comes off the van.
  • Build beds first so the day can end even if boxes are still packed.
  • Test the boiler, hot water, smoke alarms and the consumer unit.
  • Take arrival meter readings and photograph them.
  • Check items against your inventory and report damage before the crew leaves.
  • Break down boxes and book a recycling collection or clearance slot.
