How far in advance should you book?
For a long distance removal, aim to book around six to eight weeks ahead — and earlier still if you’re moving in the busy summer season (May to September) or at the end of a month, when demand and prices peak. Larger homes and office relocations are often best booked eight to twelve weeks out so the right vehicles and crew can be reserved. Outside peak periods, between October and April, you can often book a few weeks ahead and pick up better midweek rates.

What removal companies can’t move
For safety and insurance reasons, removal firms won’t transport hazardous or flammable items such as paint, gas bottles, petrol, oils or fireworks. Perishable food and plants are also usually a no, as they can spoil or spill on a long journey.
