Packing pricing

Professional packing prices

Packing is the part of a move people most often underestimate: a 2-bed home is roughly 40 to 55 cartons and a full weekend of work. We price it two ways — per packer per hour when you only want the kitchen and the fragiles done, or as a fixed price per property size when you want to hand over the whole job.

Professional packing price list

Packing is priced per packer per hour, or as a fixed price per property size. Materials are charged at cost, and unpacking at the new address is priced the same way.

What moves the price

  • How much of the home you hand over

A fragile-only pack of the kitchen, glassware and pictures is a couple of hours. A full pack includes wardrobes, lofts, garages and the cupboard nobody has opened in years.

  • Carton count, not floor area

We estimate cartons from bedrooms and occupants — around 25 for a 1-bed, 40–55 for a 2-bed, 65–80 for a 3-bed. The carton count drives both the labour and the materials.

  • Fragile and high-value items

China, glass, mirrors, art and TVs are packed in double-wall cartons with tissue and bubble wrap. That is slower work per item and the reason fragile-only packs exist.

  • Packing the day before, or on the day

Packing the day before the van arrives is the calmest and usually the cheapest route. Same-day packing needs a bigger crew to keep the move on schedule.

  • Materials

Boxes, tape, paper and wrap are charged at cost — around £68 for a 2-bed — and every empty carton is collected free after the move.

  • Materials pack — 1-bed homefrom £42
  • Materials pack — 2-bed homefrom £68
  • Wardrobe carton, hired£8
  • Standard box (pack of 10)£22
  • TV or artwork cratefrom £35
  • Same-day pack and move (extra packer)from £120

How to pay less

  • Pack your own clothes and books and hand us only the kitchen and the fragiles — that is where the breakages and the hours actually are.
  • Declutter before you count cartons. Paying to pack, move and unpack something you will not keep costs three times over.
  • Book packing for the day before the van rather than the morning of the move; a day-before pack needs fewer packers for the same work.
  • Take the free carton collection. Buying boxes and then paying to dispose of them is the most common hidden packing cost.

Professional packing pricing FAQs

Professional packing prices, answered.

  • How much does professional packing cost in the UK?

£30 an hour per packer with a two-hour minimum, or a fixed price per property size: from £180 for a 1-bed, £280 for a 2-bed and £420 for a 3-bed. Materials are charged at cost on top.

  • Are boxes and materials included in the packing price?

Labour and fixed packing prices exclude materials, which are supplied at cost — around £42 for a 1-bed and £68 for a 2-bed. Empty cartons are collected free after the move.

  • Can you pack only the fragile items?

Yes, and it is the most popular option. A fragile-only pack covers the kitchen, glassware, china, mirrors and art from £120, and you handle clothes and books yourself.

  • Do you unpack at the new address too?

Yes — unpacking is £30 an hour per packer, includes placing items into cupboards and wardrobes, and we flatten and take away every empty carton.

  • Is my packing insured?

Goods packed by our crews are covered by goods-in-transit insurance on the move. Items you pack yourself are covered for transit damage but not for internal breakage.

  • How long does packing a house take?

Roughly 4–6 hours for a 1-bed with one packer, a half day for a 2-bed with two packers, and a full day for a 3-bed. We confirm the window after a room count or a short video.

Hello services came to clean out our apartment that we vacated on Monday 2nd February 2026. They did an amazing job and went above and beyond to make sure that the place was completely spotless and ready for the next resident. I’m really happy with their service and would very much recommend them. Their prices are also brilliant as well, very affordable, no hidden costs and more than fair and reasonable for the amazing service they provide. Very happy and thank you hello services, I’ll definitely be using them again. See before and after photos for reference.

Hello Services did a fantastic job in my bungalow. The windows sparkle inside, there are no fingerprints anywhere and my lounge carpet looks new. Even my garage, which was full of cobwebs, is clean enough to eat in. I would totally recommend them. Lovely people, excellent workers.

The cleaners Constantin and arrived in time and never stopped until the work was completed to the best of their ability. I would recommend a more upgraded carpet cleaner as I was hoping for a hot steam cleaner to penetrate areas or heavy foot traffic on the carpet. They never gave up until the look was more space saving. I can now access the office area to study My degree coursework at home. All rubbish accumulated was also kindly removed.
