Moving pricing

Removals and man-with-a-van prices

Small moves are charged hourly because you only pay for the time on the clock. Whole-home moves are surveyed and priced as one fixed figure, so nothing changes on moving day.

What moves the price

  • Volume, not room count

Two people in a 3-bed with a garage move more than a family in a 3-bed flat. A short video walk-through gets the van size right first time.

  • Access at both ends

Lifts, stair flights, carry distance and whether a Luton can park within 20 metres are the biggest swing factors on labour.

  • Distance and return leg

Under 20 miles is usually inside the hourly rate. Longer moves are priced as a fixed job including the return.

  • Packing and dismantling

Packing is £30/hr with materials at cost. Standard beds and tables are dismantled and rebuilt inside the base price.

How to pay less

  • Book midweek and mid-month — Friday and month-end slots are the most contested in the UK.

  • Reserve the parking bay at both ends. Long carries are the single most common reason an hourly move overruns.
