Home Removals across Hertfordshire
A cross-county Hertfordshire move often takes less time on the M1, M25 or A1(M) than it does getting the last box out of a three-storey new-town townhouse or down a Chilterns lane too narrow for the removals lorry to turn on.

Why Hertfordshire customers book us
Surveyed, then one fixed number
A video or in-person survey sets the volume and the access at both ends, so the quote is one figure that doesn't move unless you add work.
Access checked before moving day
Permit-only streets, unadopted Chilterns lanes and lift-booking rules in the taller Watford and Hatfield blocks are confirmed at survey, not discovered with a lorry outside.
Standard beds and tables dismantled and rebuilt
Part of the fixed price at both ends, so the first night doesn't happen on a mattress on the floor.
Cover in place before anything is loaded
Goods in transit cover of £10k per load and £1m public liability apply before the van is packed.

Was able to hire a van and driver at very short notice. Great value for money. Driver went above and beyond what he should've been expected to do based on my initial description of the job required. Home Removals in Hertfordshire
The M1, M25 and A1(M) put most of Hertfordshire within a short drive of each other, so the transit leg of a house removal is rarely the constraint — the addresses at either end usually are. Permit-only Victorian terraces around St Albans, Hitchin and Berkhamsted often have no legal stopping point outside the door, unadopted lanes in the Chilterns and the county's east cannot always be turned on by a full-size lorry, and underground car parks with height barriers under newer Watford and Hatfield developments rule out some vehicles entirely. A survey establishes which of these applies before crew and van size are fixed.
The new-town housing at Stevenage, Hemel Hempstead, Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield adds a different constraint: three-storey townhouses and split-level homes with tight dog-leg staircases where a sofa or a king-size mattress that fits the room does not always fit the turn onto the landing. That is exactly the kind of detail a survey is built to catch, and it is why a bedroom-count estimate over the phone is a worse guide to a Hertfordshire move than to a flatter county.

Home Removals in Hertfordshire — your questions.
Why survey instead of quoting by bedroom count?
Because bedroom count doesn't reveal volume or access, and both decide the actual cost — particularly relevant here, where permit streets, Chilterns lanes and dog-leg staircases vary hugely between addresses only a few miles apart.
Can you get a lorry down an unadopted Chilterns lane?
Sometimes not a full-size one — that's confirmed at survey, and a smaller vehicle or a van-and-shuttle plan is arranged where a large lorry can't turn.
Do you dismantle furniture for the move?
Standard beds and tables, yes, dismantled and rebuilt at the new address as part of the fixed price. Fitted wardrobes are a different job — flag them before booking.
What's covered if something is damaged in transit?
Goods in transit cover of £10k per load, alongside £1m public liability. Anything already damaged is noted with you before loading.
Can a move run over two days?
Yes, often the sensible plan for larger homes — load non-essentials day one, complete day two, quoted as one job.
