How booking works

  1. Talk to us privately

Call 020 8124 1823 about clutter, rooms and access. If comfortable, email photos or video to info@helloservices.co.uk, excluding personal documents and other people. We listen without judgement.

  2. Agree the clean-up and quote

Agree retained items, sorting, cleaning, booked removals and reorganisation. Flag sharps, pests, contamination or unsafe access for separate assessment. Check the quote and exclusions; nothing is discarded without consent.

  3. A discreet, fully equipped team

We bring equipment and products for the agreed work, protect retained belongings, clean accessible surfaces and complete booked removals or reorganisation. Together we review the checklist and any specialist follow-up.

What's included

Assessed, quoted tasks only. Separately book decluttering, removals and reorganisation. You control your belongings.

Assessment, consent and access

  • Agree resident or authorised decision-maker priorities
  • Protect valuables, fragile possessions and documents
  • Agree keep, review, donate, recycle and removal categories
  • Assess unstable piles; keep walking routes clear

Unsafe structures, sharps, pests and contamination need specialist assessment.

Decluttering — when booked

  • Sort agreed cupboards, shelves and floor clutter with consent
  • Protect sentimental items, identification, medication and paperwork
  • Set uncertain items aside for your decision
  • Label bags; place kept items where agreed

Kitchens and bathrooms

  • Degrease accessible worktops, sinks, splashbacks and cupboard fronts
  • Clean emptied cupboards and drawers when agreed
  • Clean toilets, basins, baths, showers and accessible limescale
  • Wipe handles, switches and tiles; clean suitable floors

Oven, fridge, freezer, washer and hob interiors only when booked. No mould treatment or guaranteed stain removal.

Bedrooms, living rooms and hallways

  • Wipe accessible furniture, shelves, skirting and radiators
  • Clean doors, switches and agreed interior glass
  • Vacuum carpets; clean suitable floors and exposed spaces
  • No refurbishment or restoration

Extraction, upholstery, heavy furniture moving and exterior windows need separate agreement.

Item removals — when booked

  • Confirm approved bags, furniture and bulky items
  • Separate kept belongings before loading
  • Agree volume, disposal arrangements, access and charges
  • Separate electrical items, chemicals and special waste

Hazardous waste needs separate assessment.

Reorganisation — when booked

  • Return kept possessions to agreed locations
  • Arrange storage without blocking doors or heat sources
  • Maintain access to beds, seating and facilities
  • Review work, outstanding decisions and maintenance priorities

Practical support, not treatment or guaranteed prevention.

Benefits of a considerate hoarder clean-up

Reclaim usable space without pressure to discard valued belongings.

Reclaim usable rooms

Agreed sorting restores access to beds, seating and kitchen surfaces.

Clearer access

Fewer obstacles improve movement; serious fire risks need fire-service advice.

Reach covered surfaces

Decluttering exposes floors and fittings for intensive cleaning, rather than cleaning around piles.

Keep control

Keep-and-review categories protect possessions. Booked reorganisation supports daily use; it does not replace mental health care.

“A lovely team who worked well together. Friendly and professional. I’ve yet to closely inspect the finished work as I’m waiting for the carpets to dry fully. They look really clean and the cleaners went the extra mile to clean the hall rugs too. They did miss some of the skirting boards and door frame tops, but willingly attended to these when it was noted. The hourly rate per person worked out rather high at just under £30 (I’d expect a maximum of £20) which makes me less likely to use the service for future interim cleaning. But, if on close inspection, everything is as clean as it looks so far, I’m happy to recommend Hello Services for a one off deep clean.”

“The team were courteous, worked well and friendly. They did mention about regular cleans but unfortunately the price was extremely high. But the service you provided for the job in hand was fine. Thank you.”

Cleaning in North Yorkshire: local guide

01

Confirm the address before planning disposal

For a North Yorkshire hoarding clean-up, establish the responsible council before sorting furniture for collection. North Yorkshire Council offers bulky collections in most parts of North Yorkshire, not an unconditional regional service. Middlesbrough's separate service is for residents, not businesses. These sources do not establish every address covered by this hub. Keep household arrangements separate from contractor waste: booked removals need an agreed disposal route, not an assumption that household facilities accept commercial loads.

02

Map rooms and protect retained belongings

When arranging cluttered house cleaning, describe the actual layout rather than relying on a regional property description. If your home around Harrogate, Knaresborough or Easingwold has several bedrooms, a utility room or additional bathrooms, identify each separately. For decluttering help, mark retained paperwork, photographs and everyday clothing before considering furniture removal. Discreet cleaning can then follow your priorities. Agree where possessions stay during intensive cleaning, without filling another room or obstructing the route outside.

03

Separate collection access from cleaning access

North Yorkshire Council's bulky waste conditions require items outside, easily accessible and closest to the main road; garages and sheds are not collection points. If access involves a private lane, confirm the presentation point before moving anything. Hoarder house clearance means only assessed, booked removals here. Bags of household rubbish, commercial waste and fixtures are excluded from this council collection. Plan thorough cleaning around furniture you keep, rather than treating everything as waste.

04

Keep safety and support alongside practical work

During home reorganisation, leave doorways and hallways unobstructed and keep possessions away from heat sources, following North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue guidance. Its advice also points carers towards Home Fire Safety Visits and asking the local authority about possible support. Practical cleaning help is not counselling or treatment. Before a household recycling trip, check accepted materials: North Yorkshire Council lists needles and clinical waste as not accepted.

Frequently asked questions

Can I assume North Yorkshire Council covers my address?

No. Confirm your council before using its household services. The supplied North Yorkshire bulky waste page says collections operate in most parts of North Yorkshire; that does not verify every address within this regional hub.

What if furniture is still inside my home?

Plan safe movement separately from the collection booking. North Yorkshire Council's collection terms require accessible items outside, not inside garages or sheds. Tell us about steps, gates and retained furniture before agreeing any removals.

Can bags of clutter go with a sofa?

Not through North Yorkshire Council's bulky collection: its exclusions include bags of household waste. Separate bagged rubbish from furniture and check the correct disposal route, rather than leaving additional material beside a booked item.

Who is responsible when someone takes waste away?

Your waste remains your responsibility. North Yorkshire Council advises checking that anyone paid to remove it is a licensed waste carrier. Agree exactly which items are leaving and who will handle their disposal.

Is there local help with fire safety?

The fire service's hoarding advice directs residents towards Home Fire Safety Visits. Keep escape routes clear and test smoke alarms regularly. A cleaning booking does not replace fire safety advice or guarantee access to support.

How do we avoid losing important possessions?

Choose a clearly labelled retention area before room-by-room cleaning starts. Keep documents and sentimental belongings separate from recycling. If several rooms need attention, record where each retained group belongs rather than combining everything into anonymous bags.
