How booking works

  1. Talk to us privately

Call 020 8124 1823 about clutter, rooms and access. If comfortable, email photos or video to info@helloservices.co.uk, excluding personal documents and other people. We listen without judgement.

  2. Agree the clean-up and quote

Agree retained items, sorting, cleaning, booked removals and reorganisation. Flag sharps, pests, contamination or unsafe access for separate assessment. Check the quote and exclusions; nothing is discarded without consent.

  3. A discreet, fully equipped team

We bring equipment and products for the agreed work, protect retained belongings, clean accessible surfaces and complete booked removals or reorganisation. Together we review the checklist and any specialist follow-up.

  • Vacuum carpets; clean suitable floors and exposed spaces
  • No refurbishment or restoration

Extraction, upholstery, heavy furniture moving and exterior windows need separate agreement.

Benefits of a considerate hoarder clean-up

Reclaim usable space without pressure to discard valued belongings.

Reclaim usable rooms

Agreed sorting restores access to beds, seating and kitchen surfaces.

Clearer access

Fewer obstacles improve movement; serious fire risks need fire-service advice.

Reach covered surfaces

Decluttering exposes floors and fittings for intensive cleaning, rather than cleaning around piles.

Keep control

Keep-and-review categories protect possessions. Booked reorganisation supports daily use; it does not replace mental health care.

“A lovely team who worked well together. Friendly and professional. I’ve yet to closely inspect the finished work as I’m waiting for the carpets to dry fully. They look really clean and the cleaners went the extra mile to clean the hall rugs too. They did miss some of the skirting boards and door frame tops, but willingly attended to these when it was noted. The hourly rate per person worked out rather high at just under £30 (I’d expect a maximum of £20) which makes me less likely to use the service for future interim cleaning. But, if on close inspection, everything is as clean as it looks so far, I’m happy to recommend Hello Services for a one off deep clean.”

“The team were courteous, worked well and friendly. They did mention about regular cleans but unfortunately the price was extremely high. But the service you provided for the job in hand was fine. Thank you.”

Hoarder Cleaning in Whitby: local guide

Whitby’s old-town cottages may have steep stairs and very limited parking; West Cliff terraces bring different access considerations. Describe your property rather than assuming vehicle access, and check your address with North Yorkshire Council for services.

01

Work around cottage access

For decluttering in an old-town cottage, choose an indoor holding area for keepsakes without filling the stairway. Explain the walking route from possible parking to your door. Cluttered house cleaning should account for this approach before anything is moved; separate labelled boxes can help keep photographs and everyday essentials identifiable.

02

Distinguish household and business waste

If hoarding clean-up concerns a holiday let, do not assume household disposal arrangements apply. Council bulky waste guidance excludes commercial waste and bags of household rubbish. For household furniture, confirm address availability and an accessible outdoor collection point. Booked removals are separate from cleaning, not permission to leave items in narrow streets.

03

Keep stairs and doors clear

Plan intensive cleaning without shifting clutter onto steps. North Yorkshire fire guidance recommends clear escape routes and enough space around internal doors for closure. During possessions sorting, reserve an unobstructed route out rather than letting retained boxes create a fresh barrier between upstairs rooms and the exit.

Frequently asked questions

What if parking is away from my cottage?

For discreet cleaning, describe the route, steps and entrance width before booking. Do not move heavy possessions outside simply to demonstrate where access might work.

Can sentimental belongings remain upstairs?

Retained possessions can stay in an agreed room where appropriate. Identify fragile pieces and leave the stairs free rather than creating a temporary landing pile.

Does house clearance include all my furniture?

Hoarder house clearance covers only assessed, agreed removals. Explain which furniture belongs to you and what must remain, particularly where a property has several users.

Can a holiday let use household collections?

Do not assume so. The council waste directory lists commercial waste services separately; ask about the appropriate route before arranging disposal from a holiday let.

Where should I check recycling restrictions?

Read the council’s recycling acceptance list before transporting items. Needles and clinical waste are excluded; practical cleaning help does not include handling these as ordinary rubbish.

Who can advise about fire worries?

Ask the fire service about a Home Fire Safety Visit. Its advice is separate from thorough cleaning and can inform your household’s safety planning.
