Hoarder cleaning FAQs

Clear answers about costs, what a hoarder clean-up includes and how to start. Find local guide prices on your area page.

Costs

How much does hoarder cleaning cost?

Our UK guide starting prices are £725 for a basic hoarding clean, £1,005 for an intensive hoarding clean and £1,520 for a hoarder clean, declutter and removals. Every home is assessed and quoted individually before any work is agreed.

Why is the price different on my area page?

Each area page shows local guide prices. They are scaled from the median price of completed deep cleans in that town or county compared with the UK median, using our own job records. Where an area has too few records, the UK guide prices are shown.

What changes the final quote?

The number of rooms affected, the volume of items, how much sorting is needed, whether removals or reorganisation are booked, access such as stairs or parking, and any hazards that need specialist handling. Your written quote lists what is included and excluded.

Are there extra charges?

Your quote shows the total payable, including any VAT, administration fee or minimum charge that applies. Extra work is only carried out if you approve it first.

What's included

What does a hoarder clean-up include?

Agreed sorting with your consent, intensive cleaning of exposed surfaces in kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas and hallways, and a final walk-through of the checklist with you. Decluttering, item removals and reorganisation are included only when they are booked in your quote.

Do you remove and dispose of items?

Yes, when removals are booked. You approve every bag and item first. We agree volumes, disposal arrangements and charges in advance, and keep electrical items, chemicals and anything that needs separate handling apart.

Will you throw away my belongings without asking?

No. You, or an authorised decision-maker, stay in control. We use keep, review, donate, recycle and removal categories, and protect documents, medication, photographs and sentimental items.

Is there anything you cannot do?

Cleaning is not pest control, an electrical inspection, a structural survey or medical care. Needles, bodily fluids, suspected asbestos, unknown chemicals or serious infestation must be mentioned before booking so the right specialist can be arranged.

How to start

How do I start?

Call us privately on 020 8124 1823 to talk through the rooms, clutter and access. If you are comfortable, email photos or a short video to info@helloservices.co.uk, leaving out personal documents and other people. We then agree the scope and send a written quote.

Can I arrange this for a relative?

Yes, but the resident should agree to the work wherever possible. Surprise clear-outs can damage trust. If someone cannot make decisions about their home, speak to the person legally authorised to decide for them.

Is the service discreet?

Yes. The team arrives fully equipped, works without judgement and does not discuss your home with neighbours.

Where else can I find help?

A GP can discuss support for hoarding disorder. Your local fire and rescue service can offer a free home fire safety visit, and your council's adult social care team can assess support needs. Our UK guides below explain more.
