TV Wall Mounting across Berkshire

The wall decides this job, and Berkshire has every kind: dot-and-dab plasterboard over block in Maidenhead's new apartment blocks, consistent timber studwork through Bracknell's 1960s and 70s estates, and older brick and lath behind the plaster in Reading and Wokingham's Victorian terraces.

Why Berkshire customers book us

Wall identified before anything is drilled

We detect and probe first. A large screen on the wrong fixing in a dot-and-dab cavity is a failure waiting for a warm evening.

Cables genuinely out of sight

Power and HDMI dropped inside the wall where construction allows, or run in a discreet trunking painted to match rather than left silver.

Levelled, tested and handed back working

Bracket levelled, screen mounted, sources reconnected and the picture checked before we leave.

Soundbars, shelves and consoles too

Soundbar brackets, floating AV shelves and console storage fitted in the same visit at the hourly rate.

How booking works

  1. 1

Tell us the screen and the wall

Screen size, bracket type if you already have one, and a photo of the wall. That is enough for a firm price.

  2. 2

We detect, agree the height, then drill

Nothing goes into a wall until cables and pipes are located and you have agreed the exact position.

  3. 3

    Mount, conceal, test

Levelled, cables hidden, sources reconnected, and the area cleaned before we leave.

TV Wall Mounting in Berkshire

Berkshire's newer apartment stock is where most mounting mistakes happen. Dot-and-dab plasterboard in Maidenhead, Slough and Wokingham developments looks solid to a knuckle test but leaves a 20 to 40mm void behind it, and a plasterboard plug in that cavity will eventually let a heavy screen sag or pull out. The correct fix is a long anchor into the block behind, set to the right depth so the bracket sits tight against the board rather than crushing it.

Bracknell's 1960s and 70s New Town housing is the more forgiving case: consistent timber studwork at predictable centres means the fixing usually lands cleanly once the stud is found. Older Reading, Wokingham and Newbury terraces bring the opposite problem, with brick, lath or block behind the plaster and sometimes a chimney breast in the room you are mounting into — we adjust the plan to whichever of those is actually there rather than assuming the last job's wall type.

Berkshire questions

TV Wall Mounting in Berkshire — your questions.

  • Can you hide the cables inside the wall?

On plasterboard and most stud walls, yes — power and HDMI dropped behind the board. On solid masonry it means chasing and making good, which we quote separately. Where neither is sensible we fit paintable trunking rather than leaving cables hanging.

  • Will the bracket hold on a plasterboard wall?

Only with the correct fixing. We detect the wall type first and use a long anchor into the block behind on dot-and-dab construction, which is common across Berkshire's newer apartment blocks.

  • Can you mount above a fireplace or chimney breast?

Yes, where the structure allows — common in Reading and Wokingham's older terraces. We check for flues and heat before fixing and route cables away from any warm brickwork.

  • Do you fit soundbars and shelves at the same time?

Yes, at the hourly rate in the same visit, so you are not paying for a second call-out.

  • How long does mounting take?

A standard bracket on a sound wall with cables tidied is usually one to two hours. Chasing cables into masonry or working around a chimney breast takes longer, and we quote that separately once we have seen the wall.
