Cleaning in Oxfordshire

We clean houses, flats and shared houses across Oxfordshire: regular domestic visits, one-off deep cleans, end-of-tenancy work against a check-out inventory, after-builders and sparkle cleans on new-build handovers, and carpet and upholstery work. Every quote is fixed against the room count and the condition, not an open hourly rate, and the scope is written down so a check-out inspection has something to be measured against.

The county's biggest cleaning market by some distance is Oxford's shared housing. All houses in multiple occupation in the city have required a licence since June 2021, which means landlords are working to a documented standard and tenants are working to a deposit scheme's evidence expectations. Our end-of-tenancy scope is written for that: it lists what is cleaned room by room so the report at check-out matches the work that was actually done.

Where the cleaning work concentrates

Oxford is the busiest place we clean in the county and the most compressed: the shared houses and converted flats through East Oxford, Jericho, Cowley Road, Headington and Summertown change hands in a short summer window, so end-of-tenancy slots there go weeks ahead. Carterton is the opposite pattern — RAF Brize Norton postings set fixed handover dates spread through the year, with a written standard to clean to.

Elsewhere the mix is domestic. Didcot, Bicester and Banbury produce new-build sparkle and handover cleans on their large modern estates; Abingdon, Witney, Thame, Wallingford and Wantage are mostly regular domestic and deep cleaning in period and post-war housing; and Henley, Chipping Norton and Faringdon are older stone and period property where care over floors and fittings matters more than speed.

Oxford parking is the practical constraint on a clean

Most of Oxford inside the ring road is controlled parking, and the terraced streets of East Oxford and Jericho have no drives, so a cleaning crew arriving with equipment needs somewhere legal to stop. On-street zones in Oxfordshire are run by the county council, and visitor permits come as single-day passes with one free set per address each year — worth using on a move-out day. Oxford City Council separately runs the permits for its own off-street parking areas. Outside the city none of this applies: Kidlington, Wheatley, Didcot and the estate towns are ordinary door-side parking.

Common questions

Cleaning in Oxfordshire, answered.

  • Do you clean HMOs and student houses in Oxford?

Yes, and it is the largest part of our Oxford cleaning work. Every HMO in the city has needed a licence since June 2021, so landlords are working to a documented standard; our end-of-tenancy scope is itemised room by room so what we did can be matched against the check-out report and the deposit scheme's evidence requirements.

  • When should I book an end-of-tenancy clean in Oxford?

As early as you can for late June to early September. The city's shared-housing market turns over on university terms, so that window fills weeks ahead. Outside it, a week's notice is usually enough. We would rather tell you a date has gone than take the booking and move you later.

  • Will the Zero Emission Zone add a charge to my clean?

Almost never. The zone is a pilot over nine named city-centre streets, and it charges vehicles driving in it between 7am and 7pm — a vehicle parked and not moving is not charged. Very few domestic addresses sit inside it. If yours does, the charge is shown in the written quote before you book, not added afterwards.

  • Is a deep clean the same as an end-of-tenancy clean?

No. A deep clean is measured by what you want done; an end-of-tenancy clean is measured against the inventory the property was let with, which usually means inside appliances, inside cupboards, all sanitaryware and all hard floors as standard. We quote them separately because they are scoped differently.
