Cleaning, moving, handyman & clearance in Oxford

A university city with two universities, one of the largest shared-housing sectors outside London, and a medieval core that most vehicles cannot reach at all. Fixed prices are confirmed before we arrive, and every crew working OX1 is insured to £1m.

A city where the term dates fill the diary and the parking bay decides the vehicle.

Oxford in practice

Two things decide an Oxford booking: the date and the street. The date matters because the shared-housing market moves on university terms, so the last week of June through to early September is the busiest period of our year here and the slots go first. The street matters because controlled parking covers most of the city inside the ring road, and a terrace off Cowley Road or in Jericho has no drive, no visitor bay you can rely on and a carriageway too narrow to block for an hour.

What we do about it is practical rather than clever. We ask for the exact address before quoting, check whether a loading spot can be reserved or a visitor permit used, and size the vehicle to the street instead of sending the biggest one and hoping. On college and university addresses we arrange the lodge booking in advance. And if the honest answer is that your preferred date cannot be done properly, we say so at the quote rather than at the door.

Oxford at a glance

Housing stock
Victorian and Edwardian terraces through Jericho, East Oxford, Cowley Road and Iffley Fields, a very large share of them in shared occupation; substantial Victorian villas in North Oxford and Summertown; interwar and post-war semis at Headington, Marston, Botley and Cowley; post-war council-built estates at Blackbird Leys, Barton and Rose Hill; and college and university accommodation across the centre and the science areas
Access on the day
Oxford is the hardest access city in the county and the restriction, not the load, sets the plan. The Zero Emission Zone is a pilot covering a named group of city-centre streets only — it is not city-wide, and most jobs never enter it. Around it, almost all of OX1, OX2 and OX4 inside the ring road is controlled parking, with resident bays and short visitor windows; the terraced streets off Cowley Road, Divinity Road and in Jericho are narrow enough that a Luton blocks the carriageway while it loads, and several have bollards or one-way working. College and university addresses need a porters' lodge booking and a named contact. Oxford City Council sets the parking and bulky-waste rules; Oxfordshire County Council runs the tips and their van and trailer permit scheme.
Where we work
The Radcliffe Camera and the High Street colleges, with the ring road looping the city outside them

  • Which parts of Oxford do you cover?

Every address in OX1, OX2, OX3, OX4, OX33, OX44, plus the surrounding Oxfordshire villages and neighbouring Kidlington, Abingdon-on-Thames, Wheatley, Eynsham. There is no travel surcharge inside that area.

  • Do you work on Oxford's type of housing?

Yes. Victorian and Edwardian terraces through Jericho, East Oxford, Cowley Road and Iffley Fields, a very large share of them in shared occupation; substantial Victorian villas in North Oxford and Summertown; interwar and post-war semis at Headington, Marston, Botley and Cowley; post-war council-built estates at Blackbird Leys, Barton and Rose Hill; and college and university accommodation across the centre and the science areas We size the crew, the van and the kit to the property rather than quoting one flat template for the whole county.

  • Where will the crew park in Oxford?

We confirm the loading point with you when the job is booked, so nothing is decided on the doorstep on the day.

  • How quickly can you get to OX1?

Most Oxford jobs are booked within two to three days, and we hold same-week slots for end-of-tenancy cleans and clearances tied to a fixed check-out or completion date.

The company was very efficient and the online contact was brilliant. The work was contracted out to a local company and they did a brilliant job cleaning the two ovens and left the kitchen spotless afterwards. They were late arriving but had phoned me to let me know they would be late. Could not fault… Read in full →

The cleaning team arrived on time, provided a careful explanation of the cleaning that they would undertake and then performed the work to the highest standard. In particular, I was very impressed with the work they did to remove stains in the bathroom and the attention to details in other rooms, cleaning skirting boards, door… Read in full →

Outstanding deep clean. There was a lot to do and the workers did an amazing job. They were discreet and extremely focused. Everything was gleaming when they went and the house smells fresh and clean, without the use of overpowering products. I will definitely use this service again. Highly recommended.
