How booking works

  1. Talk to us privately

Call 020 8124 1823 about clutter, rooms and access. If comfortable, email photos or video to info@helloservices.co.uk, excluding personal documents and other people. We listen without judgement.

  2. Agree the clean-up and quote

Agree retained items, sorting, cleaning, booked removals and reorganisation. Flag sharps, pests, contamination or unsafe access for separate assessment. Check the quote and exclusions; nothing is discarded without consent.

  3. A discreet, fully equipped team

We bring equipment and products for the agreed work, protect retained belongings, clean accessible surfaces and complete booked removals or reorganisation. Together we review the checklist and any specialist follow-up.

What's included

Unsafe structures, sharps, pests and contamination need specialist assessment.

  • Clean doors, switches and agreed interior glass
  • Vacuum carpets; clean suitable floors and exposed spaces
  • No refurbishment or restoration

Extraction, upholstery, heavy furniture moving and exterior windows need separate agreement.

Item removals — when booked

  • Agree volume, disposal arrangements, access and charges
  • Separate electrical items, chemicals and special waste

Hazardous waste needs separate assessment.

Practical support, not treatment or guaranteed prevention.

Benefits of a considerate hoarder clean-up

Reclaim usable space without pressure to discard valued belongings.

Reclaim usable rooms

Agreed sorting restores access to beds, seating and kitchen surfaces.

Clearer access

Fewer obstacles improve movement; serious fire risks need fire-service advice.

Reach covered surfaces

Decluttering exposes floors and fittings for intensive cleaning, rather than cleaning around piles.

Keep control

Keep-and-review categories protect possessions. Booked reorganisation supports daily use; it does not replace mental health care.

“Deep cleaning service from Jon with Hello Services was excellent. I had filled in the form slightly optimistically and he took it in his stride and brought up the damaged carpets so well that I might not need to replace them. A different cleaning company had quoted £130 more than Hello Services and weren't even going to bother deep cleaning the carpets because they were 'too far gone'. Friendly, helpful and fast.”

Cleaning in Kent: local guide

01

One county, different collection arrangements

For a hoarding clean-up, establish the council responsible for your address before choosing a disposal route. Kent’s collection guidance directs residents to borough or district councils, rather than one countywide bulky service. Tonbridge and Malling, Canterbury and Thanet have separate arrangements. Keep resident household disposal distinct from waste removed commercially through booked removals. A council collection is not automatically part of our cleaning booking.

02

Protect possessions and plan the route

Cluttered house cleaning should leave retained belongings accessible, not buried beneath newly sorted boxes. For a Kent house move, identify documents, keys and everyday kitchen items that must stay together. If your Canterbury or Tunbridge Wells home has sash windows or picture rails, flag delicate finishes before intensive cleaning. In a flat, discuss entry codes, stairs and parking; discreet cleaning still needs an agreed route that respects neighbours and shared entrances.

03

Check outside access before moving furniture

Decluttering help can reveal furniture you no longer want, but collection rules affect where it can go. Thanet’s bulky service requires items outside at pavement level and excludes landlord use. Tonbridge and Malling’s instructions also exclude collection from inside buildings. Before arranging hoarder house clearance with assessed removals, distinguish your retained furniture from outgoing items and agree safe handling; never assume council crews will carry items downstairs.

04

Separate recycling, safety and support

For household recycling, Canterbury’s recycling centre requires booking and prohibits business waste. Do not plan commercial disposal through that household route. During thorough cleaning, avoid creating new obstructions: Canterbury’s fire notice says to keep escape routes clear. For support beyond cleaning, a Tonbridge and Malling housing report describes coordinator provision across several Kent authorities. Ask your council about current options; this is separate from our service.

Frequently asked questions

Which council should I contact in Kent?

Check your address with the council before arranging household collections. Kent County Council’s directory points to separate borough and district contacts; a Kent postal address alone should not determine which collection rules you follow.

Can a landlord use Thanet’s bulky collection?

No. Thanet’s published terms say this service is not available to landlords and direct them to a registered trade waste carrier. Plan tenancy clearance separately from resident household disposal, including any waste from cleaning.

Can Canterbury collect every unwanted item?

No. Canterbury’s bulky waste guidance excludes commercial waste, paint, chemicals, glass, asbestos and unidentified substances in containers. For unwanted furniture removal, check acceptance before booking rather than moving everything to the boundary.

What should happen to batteries found while sorting?

Keep batteries separate from ordinary rubbish during possessions sorting. Canterbury’s bin guidance says batteries cannot go in household bins because of fire risk, directing residents to local supermarkets or major electrical shops instead.

How can I keep important belongings accessible?

For practical home organisation, choose a clearly marked retained area away from the exit. Keep medication, paperwork and sentimental items together, and tell us which cupboards must remain accessible throughout the agreed cleaning work.

Is council support included with cleaning?

No. Our practical cleaning help is separate from public support. The housing report describes coordinator services, not an entitlement for every Kent household. Ask your council about current provision; cleaning does not provide counselling or treatment.
