Working in London
Mid-terrace houses in Hackney, Camberwell, Kilburn and Bow have no side access, so every box comes through the hallway and the kitchen. Rattan corner sets ship in three or four cartons and a built module will not go back through a standard 762mm door.
We unpack outside where we can, protect floors where we cannot, and always build in the garden rather than the living room.
New-build terraces around Nine Elms, Stratford and the Greenwich Peninsula are exposed and windy. A parasol base sized for a suburban lawn is genuinely dangerous eight floors up.
We ballast to the manufacturer's wind rating, tie down where the terrace allows and will tell you when an item is simply not suitable for the position rather than building it anyway.
London patios are laid with a deliberate fall for drainage, usually 1:80 away from the house. A six-seat table on that fall rocks, and a shed base built on it racks the door within a season.
Feet are packed to the actual fall, and shed bases are levelled and checked diagonally before anything is fixed down.
Gas BBQs are leak-tested with soapy water and the regulator fitted before hand-over. We also check siting against the boundary, which matters in a narrow terraced garden where a fence sits within a metre of the burner.

We level and pack an existing base from £160, which covers most London gardens where the surface is old paving with a drainage fall. Laying new concrete or paving is landscaping, and we will refer that rather than bodge a base that will fail.
Most London terraces have none, so boxes come through the house. We sheet the hallway and floors, carry cartons rather than built modules, and assemble everything outside — a built rattan corner module will not fit back through a standard door.
On request, yes. Garden furniture packaging is bulky enough to fill a bin store on its own, so it leaves with us through our registered-carrier route instead of turning into a communal charge for the block.
