What we can show you for Fleet

  • Fleet access and housing notes

GU51, GU52 housing stock and loading reality, written for Fleet rather than the county.

Garden Clearance in Fleet: what actually matters here

A north-east Hampshire commuter town grown around its main-line station, with late twentieth-century and modern estate housing spreading south into Church Crookham and west onto Elvetham Heath.

The housing stock is A small Victorian and Edwardian core near the station and Fleet Road; extensive 1960s to 1990s detached and semi-detached estates through Pondtail, Velmead and Church Crookham; modern high-density development at Elvetham Heath, Ancells Farm and Zebon Copse; and a steady supply of two- and three-bedroom flats close to the station used by London commuters, which decides the tools, protection and crew size we bring to a garden clearance job.

Fleet is one of the easier towns in the county to work in. The estates were laid out for cars, so drives, garages and turning heads are normal, and a Luton reaches the door at most GU51 and GU52 addresses. The exceptions are predictable: the flats and apartment blocks around the station and Fleet Road have permit-only car parks with height barriers and limited visitor space, and the older lanes at Crookham Village narrow quickly. Hart District Council sets parking, collections and bulky waste; disposal is through Hampshire County Council's permit-controlled recycling centres, which take no trade waste.

A garden clearance booking in Fleet covers Fleet town centre, Elvetham Heath and Ancells Farm on the same fixed price as the town centre — the crew works the whole GU51 and GU52 footprint rather than a narrow postcode.

As a mid-sized town built around Fleet Pond, the largest freshwater lake in Hampshire, on the northern edge of the town, Fleet has a mix of approach roads and loading points, so we confirm parking and carry distance when you book rather than assuming.

What a garden clearance job includes

Garden clearance is the removal of green waste and everything else a garden accumulates: prunings, hedge cuttings, turf, soil, old decking and fence panels, broken furniture, pots, a collapsed shed. Green waste from £95 covers cutting, bagging and removal, and where the load is mixed it is priced by the volume of the van you actually fill, from £110 for a quarter load to £310 for a full load of roughly 12 cubic yards. Everything leaves with a waste transfer note under Environment Agency registration CBDU300454.

Cutting back

  • Overgrowth, brambles and shrubs cut back to the line you agree before we start
  • Hedges reduced and the arisings removed rather than left in a pile
  • Weeds and self-seeded growth cleared from beds, paths and paving joints
  • Turf and topsoil lifted where a bed or a path is being taken out

Hard items

  • Old fence panels, posts, trellis and rotten decking removed
  • Sheds and greenhouses dismantled and taken away where they are safe to break down
  • Broken garden furniture, pots, planters, play equipment and trampolines
  • Rubble, hardcore and spoil segregated as its own waste stream

Loading and disposal

  • Full crew carry — nothing left for you to drag to the front
  • Access route protected and the path or drive swept afterwards
  • Green waste taken to a composting route and hard waste segregated at a licensed transfer station
  • Waste transfer note issued in your name, usually the same day

What changes the price on a garden clearance job

  • Nesting birds are protected by law between March and August, and we will not cut a hedge that is in active use. If we find a nest we stop that section and tell you.
  • Asbestos — common in old shed and garage roofing — fuel, gas bottles and chemicals are outside our licence. If we suspect it, we stop, tell you and point you to a licensed contractor rather than loading it.
  • Green waste is bulky and light, so a garden that looks like a small job can fill a van quickly. Photos of the whole garden — not just the worst corner — get you a firm price instead of a range.
  • Access decides the labour. A garden reached only through the house, or up a shared alley, is a longer carry than one with side or rear vehicle access, and we ask which yours is at quote stage.
  • Soil, rubble and hardcore are heavy waste charged as their own stream, because the transfer station charges by weight rather than volume. Mixing them into a green-waste price would be a price that changed on the day.

Really pleased to have used Hello Services. We had a shed we needed assembling, and Adam made sure it went up smoothly. It was such a relief to see him assess the base, judge what needed doing, and then at the end of the day a brand new shed was standing strong and tall in… Read in full →

Hannah and her friend were friendly and thoughtful. They were very professional and hard working. They also turned a junk room into a nice bedroom. I cannot thank them or praise them enough.

Common questions

Fleet questions, answered.

  • How quickly can you book garden clearance in Fleet?

Same-week slots are standard in Fleet, with next-day often available midweek. Month-end tenancy changeovers are the busiest window across Hampshire, so book those a week or two ahead.

  • How is a garden clearance priced?

Green waste starts from £95 for cut, bagged and removed. Mixed loads are priced by the volume of the van you fill — £110 a quarter, £180 a half, £310 full — with all labour, sweeping and tip fees included, so you are never charged for space you do not use.

  • Do you do the cutting as well as the taking away?

Yes. Cutting back, dismantling and lifting is part of the job — you do not need to have piled it up first. If it is already bagged, say so and the price reflects the shorter labour.

  • Where does the green waste go?

Green waste goes to a composting route and hard waste is segregated at a licensed transfer station, with over 90% of what we collect kept out of landfill. You get the waste transfer note either way, which is your legal record of where it went.
