What we can show you for Hastings
Here is what our housekeeping / cleaner work around Hastings looks like in practice.
Hastings access and housing notes
TN34, TN35, TN37, TN38 housing stock and loading reality, written for Hastings rather than the county.
Housekeeping / Cleaner in Hastings: what actually matters here
A steep, historic seaside town of narrow Old Town twittens between the East and West Hills, Victorian terraces climbing the valleys, and large inland estates at Ore and Hollington.
The housing stock is Timber-framed and Georgian houses in the Old Town, tall Victorian terraces and villa conversions in Bohemia and Blacklands, and post-war estates at Ore Valley and Hollington, which decides the tools, protection and crew size we bring to a housekeeping / cleaner job.
The Old Town lanes and twittens off All Saints Street and the High Street are too narrow for a Luton, several are stepped and pedestrian-only, and parking is metered and tightly enforced — those jobs run as a shuttle from a legal stopping point. Elsewhere the town is unusually steep, with unadopted and single-track lanes on the hills where turning space has to be checked first. Rother and Hastings addresses use East Sussex County Council's permit-controlled household sites.
Hastings housekeeping / cleaner work is booked as a named slot with a named team, so the same people see the property twice rather than a different van each visit.
We treat Hastings as one service area: Old Town, West Hill and Blacklands and the rest of TN34, TN35 and TN37 share the same housekeeping / cleaner price list and the same crews.
Hastings is booked alongside st-leonards-on-sea, bexhill-on-sea and hailsham on the same diary, so a housekeeping / cleaner job here is scheduled by travel time rather than treated as a one-off trip.
Hastings is one of the larger settlements in the county; the streets around The Old Town net shops and the East Hill Cliff Railway are the ones where we most often check loading arrangements in advance.
Further out, Ore, Clive Vale, Silverhill and Hollington sit inside the same footprint — same crews, same fixed housekeeping / cleaner pricing.
A housekeeping / cleaner booking that starts in Hastings and finishes in heathfield is priced as one local job, not two.
When you enquire, the Hastings postcode is the first thing we ask for — TN34 addresses differ enough street to street that we would rather check than assume.
We map Hastings by area — Old Town (TN34), West Hill (TN34) and Blacklands (TN34) — rather than treating the whole town as one drop.
Hastings breaks down into 12 recorded areas for us — Old Town at one end, West Marina at the other — and a housekeeping / cleaner slot is planned against whichever one you are in.
A Hastings booking is held with a named contact, and if timings slip at the st-leonards-on-sea end of the round you hear about it before the slot, not after.
What a housekeeping / cleaner job includes
Regular housekeeping is the same cleaner, on the same day, working to a list you set. It is ongoing maintenance rather than a one-off reset: kitchen, bathrooms, floors, dusting and bed changes on a weekly or fortnightly rhythm, with the visit length fixed so you know exactly what the week costs. Cleaning teams are directly employed and DBS-checked, which is why you get a named person rather than whoever is free.
Every visit
- Kitchen surfaces, hob, sink and appliance fronts cleaned down
- Bathrooms cleaned and disinfected — sanitary ware, screens, mirrors and floors
- All floors vacuumed and hard floors mopped
- Dusting of reachable surfaces, sills, shelves and skirtings
- Beds made or changed with linen you leave out, and bins emptied
On a rota you choose
- Inside the fridge, the microwave and the oven door glass
- Interior windows, doors and frames
- Under-bed and behind-sofa vacuuming
- Ironing and laundry cycles run during the visit
How it runs
- A named, DBS-checked cleaner on a fixed weekly or fortnightly slot
- A written task list agreed at the start and changed whenever you ask
- Products and machines supplied, or yours used if you prefer particular ones
- Key-holding or a smart-lock code arranged in writing, never informally
What changes the price on a housekeeping / cleaner job
- Clutter is the single biggest drag on a timed visit: a cleaner tidying is a cleaner not cleaning. Say which surfaces you want tidied and which left alone and the time goes where you want it.
- Pets and shedding change the vacuum time noticeably; tell us at quote stage so the visit is long enough rather than always overrunning.
- Holiday and sickness cover is arranged with a replacement from the same team, and you are told who is coming before the day — we would rather move the slot than send a stranger unannounced.
- The first visit almost always takes longer than the routine ones. Where a home has not been cleaned to standard recently, we quote a one-off deep clean first and then the regular slot maintains it — that is cheaper than paying deep-clean effort at housekeeping frequency forever.

Cleaning reviews from East Sussex customers
4.5 ★ from 3,131 Trustpilot reviewsFantastic cleaning job from Jose. Very pleased with the result! We’ve struggled with a few really tricky spots such as grime on the window frames and limescale on the shower screen, but these are now looking spotless! Would definitely use again, and would recommend to friends and family.
An extremely well organised, efficient and conscientious team who thoroughly cleaned my many rugs and cleaned my two sofas so that all look as good as new. My home is now fresh and clean. Thank you, I will for sure be using your services again. Jill Fenton
I recently had a large removal and end of tenancy cleaning done by Hello Services in Brighton. They were very friendly, professional, careful and respectful. They did an excellent job, highly recommended.

About Hastings
Hastings is the most access-constrained town in East Sussex after Brighton, and for different reasons. The Old Town sits in a valley between two hills, and the streets running off All Saints Street and the High Street are twittens — some stepped, some barely wider than a wheelbarrow, several with no vehicle access at all. Nothing about that appears on a floor plan, so we look at the street on the map and, where it matters, in person before quoting. A three-piece suite out of an Old Town cottage is a stair-and-alley job, and it is priced as one.
Away from the seafront the constraint is gradient and road width. The Victorian terraces climbing Bohemia, Blacklands and Clive Vale sit on hills with parked cars on both sides and turning heads that a long-wheelbase van cannot use. Ore Valley and Hollington are easier — post-war estates with drives, verges and space — and that is where a full-size vehicle can get to the door. Salt air and exposed south-facing frontages also mean render, patios and uPVC in Hastings soil far faster than the Weald towns inland.

Hastings questions, answered.
How much does housekeeping / cleaner cost in Hastings?
Housekeeping / Cleaner in Hastings (TN34, TN35, TN37, TN38) starts from £45. The final figure is fixed before booking and reflects the size of the property, the floor level and the access — which in Hastings usually means the Old Town lanes and twittens off All Saints Street and the High Street are too narrow for a Luton, several are stepped and pedestrian-only, and parking is metered and tightly enforced — those jobs run as a shuttle from a legal stopping point. Elsewhere the town is unusually steep, with unadopted and single-track lanes on the hills where turning space has to be checked first. Rother and Hastings addresses use East Sussex County Council's permit-controlled household sites.
Do you cover the whole of Hastings?
Yes — every TN34 and TN35 and TN37 and TN38 street, plus the surrounding East Sussex towns. Jobs are scheduled by travel time, so short-notice slots do come up.
Are you insured for housekeeping / cleaner work?
We carry £1m public liability cover and hold Environment Agency waste carrier licence CBDU300454. Certificates are available on request and the details are published on our trust and credentials page.
How quickly can you book housekeeping / cleaner in Hastings?
Same-week slots are standard in Hastings, with next-day often available midweek. Month-end tenancy changeovers are the busiest window across East Sussex, so book those a week or two ahead.
Do I get the same cleaner each time?
Yes, that is the point of a regular slot — a named cleaner on a fixed day. If they are on holiday or off sick we arrange cover from the same team and tell you who is coming beforehand.
Do I need to be home?
No. Most regular customers are at work. Key-holding or a smart-lock code is arranged in writing when the schedule is set up, so the arrangement is on record rather than a verbal favour.
Can I change what gets done?
Any time. The task list is yours — swap the ironing for the oven door, add the inside of the fridge one week, skip a bedroom nobody uses. Just tell us before the visit so the time is planned.
What is the notice period?
There is no tie-in contract. Give us reasonable notice to move or cancel a visit and there is no charge; if we turn up to a locked house with no notice, the visit is charged because the slot was held for you.
