What we can show you for Hailsham

Here is what our housekeeping / cleaner work around Hailsham looks like in practice.

  • Hailsham access and housing notes

BN27 housing stock and loading reality, written for Hailsham rather than the county.

Housekeeping / Cleaner in Hailsham: what actually matters here

A Wealden market town that has grown fast on its northern and western edges, with a compact old centre, a large industrial estate and new estates spreading toward Hellingly.

The housing stock is A small Georgian and Victorian core around the High Street, extensive 1970s–1990s estates, and continuing new-build development toward Hellingly and Upper Horsebridge, which decides the tools, protection and crew size we bring to a housekeeping / cleaner job.

The High Street is narrow with timed loading and a pedestrianised section, so town-centre jobs are worked early; the newer estates have drives and turning heads and are straightforward. Wealden addresses use East Sussex County Council's permit scheme, and the county's household site on Diplocks Way is in the town itself.

Hailsham housekeeping / cleaner visits are scheduled in fixed slots, so the team knows the property, the parking and the water and power arrangements before the van is loaded.

We treat Hailsham as one service area: Hellingly, Upper Horsebridge, Diplocks, Summerheath and Hawkstown and the rest of BN27 share the same housekeeping / cleaner price list and the same crews.

Hailsham sits with polegate, heathfield and eastbourne in the same part of the county, so housekeeping / cleaner bookings there can usually be fitted around each other.

Hailsham is a smaller town; the streets around The Cuckoo Trail, which runs through the town on the old Polegate–Eridge railway are the ones where we most often check loading arrangements in advance.

Magham Down and Amberstone are covered on the same visit pattern, and we quote them from the same housekeeping / cleaner price list.

Plenty of Hailsham jobs involve uckfield at the other end; that stays inside the same East Sussex round and the same quote.

We ask for the full Hailsham address rather than just BN27, because the loading point is what sets the housekeeping / cleaner time on site.

We map Hailsham by area — Hellingly (BN27), Upper Horsebridge (BN27) and Diplocks (BN27) — rather than treating the whole town as one drop.

We treat Hailsham as 7 separate approaches (Hellingly through Amberstone) on one housekeeping / cleaner price list.

The team working Hailsham starts its day locally, so an early housekeeping / cleaner slot here does not depend on traffic in from another county.

What a housekeeping / cleaner job includes

Regular housekeeping is the same cleaner, on the same day, working to a list you set. It is ongoing maintenance rather than a one-off reset: kitchen, bathrooms, floors, dusting and bed changes on a weekly or fortnightly rhythm, with the visit length fixed so you know exactly what the week costs. Cleaning teams are directly employed and DBS-checked, which is why you get a named person rather than whoever is free.

Every visit

  • Kitchen surfaces, hob, sink and appliance fronts cleaned down
  • Bathrooms cleaned and disinfected — sanitary ware, screens, mirrors and floors
  • All floors vacuumed and hard floors mopped
  • Dusting of reachable surfaces, sills, shelves and skirtings
  • Beds made or changed with linen you leave out, and bins emptied

On a rota you choose

  • Inside the fridge, the microwave and the oven door glass
  • Interior windows, doors and frames
  • Under-bed and behind-sofa vacuuming
  • Ironing and laundry cycles run during the visit

How it runs

  • A named, DBS-checked cleaner on a fixed weekly or fortnightly slot
  • A written task list agreed at the start and changed whenever you ask
  • Products and machines supplied, or yours used if you prefer particular ones
  • Key-holding or a smart-lock code arranged in writing, never informally

What changes the price on a housekeeping / cleaner job

  • Clutter is the single biggest drag on a timed visit: a cleaner tidying is a cleaner not cleaning. Say which surfaces you want tidied and which left alone and the time goes where you want it.
  • Pets and shedding change the vacuum time noticeably; tell us at quote stage so the visit is long enough rather than always overrunning.
  • Holiday and sickness cover is arranged with a replacement from the same team, and you are told who is coming before the day — we would rather move the slot than send a stranger unannounced.
  • The first visit almost always takes longer than the routine ones. Where a home has not been cleaned to standard recently, we quote a one-off deep clean first and then the regular slot maintains it — that is cheaper than paying deep-clean effort at housekeeping frequency forever.

Fantastic cleaning job from Jose. Very pleased with the result! We’ve struggled with a few really tricky spots such as grime on the window frames and limescale on the shower screen, but these are now looking spotless! Would definitely use again, and would recommend to friends and family.

About Hailsham

Hailsham is two towns joined together. The old centre around the High Street and Vicarage Field is narrow, partly pedestrianised and on timed loading, so town-centre cleans, clearances and deliveries are booked for early morning when a van can legally stand close to the door. Everything north and west of it — the 1970s to 1990s estates and the continuing new-build toward Hellingly and Upper Horsebridge — has drives, turning heads and no access problem at all.

The useful local fact is the waste site: East Sussex County Council's household recycling centre on Diplocks Way is in the town itself, running on the residents-only permit scheme with a separate permit for vans and trailers. That is convenient for a resident and irrelevant to a contractor — a trade load from a clearance cannot go through it, so ours goes to a licensed transfer station and you get the waste transfer note. The Cuckoo Trail also matters practically: several properties back onto it with no vehicle access from that side, so the carry is from the road frontage only.

Common questions

Hailsham questions, answered.

  • How much does housekeeping / cleaner cost in Hailsham?

Housekeeping / Cleaner in Hailsham (BN27) starts from £45. The final figure is fixed before booking and reflects the size of the property, the floor level and the access — which in Hailsham usually means the High Street is narrow with timed loading and a pedestrianised section, so town-centre jobs are worked early; the newer estates have drives and turning heads and are straightforward. Wealden addresses use East Sussex County Council's permit scheme, and the county's household site on Diplocks Way is in the town itself.

  • Do you cover the whole of Hailsham?

Yes — every BN27 street, plus the surrounding East Sussex towns. Jobs are scheduled by travel time, so short-notice slots do come up.

  • Are you insured for housekeeping / cleaner work?

We carry £1m public liability cover and hold Environment Agency waste carrier licence CBDU300454. Certificates are available on request and the details are published on our trust and credentials page.

  • How quickly can you book housekeeping / cleaner in Hailsham?

Same-week slots are standard in Hailsham, with next-day often available midweek. Month-end tenancy changeovers are the busiest window across East Sussex, so book those a week or two ahead.

  • Do I get the same cleaner each time?

Yes, that is the point of a regular slot — a named cleaner on a fixed day. If they are on holiday or off sick we arrange cover from the same team and tell you who is coming beforehand.

  • Do I need to be home?

No. Most regular customers are at work. Key-holding or a smart-lock code is arranged in writing when the schedule is set up, so the arrangement is on record rather than a verbal favour.

  • Can I change what gets done?

Any time. The task list is yours — swap the ironing for the oven door, add the inside of the fridge one week, skip a bedroom nobody uses. Just tell us before the visit so the time is planned.

  • What is the notice period?

There is no tie-in contract. Give us reasonable notice to move or cancel a visit and there is no charge; if we turn up to a locked house with no notice, the visit is charged because the slot was held for you.
