Deep Cleaning in Southampton: what actually matters here
A unitary port city with two universities, a large purpose-built and converted student sector north and east of the centre, and Victorian and interwar suburbs spreading out to Bitterne, Shirley and Bassett.
The housing stock is Victorian and Edwardian terraces and large converted houses through Portswood, Highfield, St Denys and Bevois Valley, much of it in shared student occupation; interwar and post-war semis at Bitterne, Sholing, Shirley and Bassett; post-war council-built estates at Lordshill, Millbrook, Weston and Thornhill; and a substantial modern waterside flat market at Ocean Village, Chapel and the Itchen riverside, which decides the tools, protection and crew size we bring to a deep cleaning job.
Southampton is a dense city and the parking scheme decides the job. Most of SO14, SO15 and SO17 sits inside resident permit zones with limited or no visitor bays, and the terraced streets around Portswood and Bevois Valley are narrow enough that a Luton blocks them while it loads. Modern waterside blocks at Ocean Village and the Itchen riverside have height-restricted underground parking, booked service lifts and concierge sign-in. Southampton City Council is a unitary authority: it runs the city's own household waste recycling centre, its own parking rules and its own bulky-waste collections, and a Hampshire County Council tip permit is not the relevant document here.
Our Southampton footprint runs across SO14, SO15 and SO16 and takes in Portswood, Highfield, St Denys and Swaythling, all on the same deep cleaning pricing.
Southampton is one of the larger settlements in the county; the streets around The cruise terminals and the old town walls, with the Itchen Bridge crossing east are the ones where we most often check loading arrangements in advance.
What a deep cleaning job includes
A one-off deep clean is the reset a home gets when a regular clean is no longer enough: everything is emptied, moved and cleaned behind rather than around. It is priced as a fixed job by property size rather than by the hour — from £135 for a one to two bed and from £225 for a three to four bed, which is two cleaners for a full day — so the clock running slow is our problem, not yours.
Kitchen
- Cupboards and drawers emptied, cleaned inside, and the contents put back
- Oven interior, hob, splashback and extractor filter degreased
- Fridge shelves and seals washed; behind and beneath the appliances cleaned where they pull out safely
- Tiles, grout lines, sink, taps and waste descaled
Bathrooms
- Limescale taken off screens, taps, tiles and shower heads rather than wiped over
- Grout scrubbed, mould treated, sealant edges cleaned
- Extractor grille, radiator, cistern and pipework detailed
Living space and bedrooms
- Skirtings, architraves, door tops, switches and sockets hand-wiped
- Light fittings, picture rails and cornices dusted from a platform, not a duster on a pole
- Behind and under beds, sofas and wardrobes vacuumed where the furniture moves
- Interior glass, sills, tracks and window furniture cleaned
What changes the price on a deep cleaning job
- Occupied homes take longer than empty ones because surfaces have to be cleared and reset; if you can empty worktops and floors before we arrive, the same money buys more cleaning.
- Built-up limescale and years of oven carbon are the two things that most often need a second pass. Tell us in advance and it goes on the quote — it is never added on the day.
- Carpets and upholstery are surface-cleaned as part of the deep clean; hot-water extraction is a separate service with its own price and is quoted alongside if you want it.
- A deep clean is priced from the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, so a two-bed with three bathrooms is quoted as the larger job — we ask for both counts when you book rather than pricing from the bedroom number alone.

Southampton questions, answered.
How quickly can you book deep cleaning in Southampton?
Same-week slots are standard in Southampton, with next-day often available midweek. Month-end tenancy changeovers are the busiest window across Hampshire, so book those a week or two ahead.
How is a deep clean different from a regular clean?
A regular clean maintains a standard: surfaces, floors, bathrooms, kitchen. A deep clean resets it — cupboards emptied, appliances degreased, limescale removed, behind and under furniture cleaned. Most homes need one deep clean and then a regular visit keeps it there.
How long does it take and how many cleaners come?
A one to two bed is usually most of a day with one cleaner; a three to four bed is quoted as two cleaners for a full day. It is a fixed price either way, so if the job takes longer than we judged, that is on us.
What if something is missed?
Tell us within 24 hours and we come back and finish it at no extra cost. That 24-hour re-clean guarantee applies to every clean we do, not just tenancy work.
