After Builders Cleaning in Fareham: what actually matters here
A borough strung along the top of Portsmouth Harbour and the Solent shore, from the Roman walls at Portchester through the old market town centre to the waterside villages of the Western Wards.
The housing stock is Georgian and Victorian property along Fareham High Street and the old town; interwar and post-war semis through Wallington, Catisfield and Portchester; extensive 1970s to 1990s owner-occupier estates across Locks Heath, Park Gate, Sarisbury and Titchfield Common; modern development at Whiteley; and waterside housing at Warsash, Hill Head and Swanwick, which decides the tools, protection and crew size we bring to an after builders cleaning job.
Fareham is comfortable to work in. The Western Wards estates — Locks Heath, Park Gate, Titchfield Common, Whiteley — are modern, with drives, garages and turning space, and the suburbs at Portchester, Wallington and Catisfield are conventional. Three things need checking first: the old High Street and the streets behind it are narrow with limited loading, the waterside lanes at Warsash, Hill Head and Titchfield village are tight and sometimes single-track, and the Whiteley boundary runs between Fareham and Winchester so the responsible council is not always the obvious one. Fareham Borough Council sets parking, collections and bulky waste; disposal is Hampshire County Council's permit-controlled sites, no trade waste accepted.
An after builders cleaning booking in Fareham covers Portchester, Wallington, Catisfield, Whiteley and Titchfield on the same fixed price as the town centre — the crew works the whole PO14, PO15 and PO16 footprint rather than a narrow postcode.
Fareham is a mid-sized town, and addresses around Portchester Castle's Roman walls, the most complete in northern Europe, on the harbour's edge in particular tend to need the access details confirmed before the van is loaded — we ask about that at quote stage, not on the day.
What an after builders cleaning job includes
After-builders cleaning removes what construction leaves behind: fine plaster and MDF dust that settles for days, paint spots and sealant smears, plaster splashes on glass, adhesive residue on new floors and the labels and film still on every fitting. It is staged work — a rough clean once the trades are out, then a detail clean, and often a sparkle clean the day before handover — and it is quoted from £135 as a fixed price once we have seen the scope, from a single room or loft conversion upwards.
Stage one — dust and debris
- Loose debris, offcuts and packaging removed from the working area
- Ceilings, walls, high-level ledges, ducting and pipework dusted down
- Full HEPA vacuum of floors, edges, sockets and window tracks
- Second pass 24 hours later where airborne dust is still dropping
Stage two — detail
- Paint spots, plaster splashes, silicone and adhesive removed from glass, tiles, ironmongery and sanitary ware
- Protective film, stickers and labels taken off units, appliances and glazing
- Grout haze removed and new tiling buffed
- New floors cleaned with the finish-appropriate method — sealed wood, LVT, tile and stone are not treated the same
Stage three — handover
- Inside cupboards, wardrobes and drawer runners cleaned before anything is put away
- Internal glass, frames, sills and tracks finished
- Sanitary ware, taps and shower screens polished
- Final vacuum and mop so the property is photograph- and handover-ready
What changes the price on an after builders cleaning job
- Site conditions change the price: no running water, no power, a shared stairwell that must stay clear, or a lift booking window all add time, so we ask about them at quote stage.
- Dust keeps falling. On a full refurbishment one visit is rarely enough, and we say up front whether the job needs a second pass rather than promising a single-visit result we would have to come back to.
- The trades must genuinely be finished. If a decorator is still working, the clean is wasted; we would rather move the date than clean twice for one fee.
- Paint on glass and adhesive on stone need the right blade and the right solvent. Some marks — etched grout haze, scratched glass, paint absorbed into unsealed stone — cannot be cleaned out, and we tell you that before starting instead of after.
- Building waste, rubble and packaging are a clearance job, not a cleaning job. They are quoted separately under our waste carrier licence so the disposal is documented properly.

Flat nicely clean. Perfect service.
KINGA AND MAGDA WERE AMAZING! Friendly, on time and did an amazing job. My flat smelt great! I also like the booking interface - very user-friendly, and so were the staff on the phone, etc when I made changes with IZABELLE. This is my first time ever to work with professional cleaners. Perhaps not the…

Fareham questions, answered.
How quickly can you book after builders cleaning in Fareham?
Same-week slots are standard in Fareham, with next-day often available midweek. Month-end tenancy changeovers are the busiest window across Hampshire, so book those a week or two ahead.
When should the clean be booked?
After the last trade leaves and before furniture and flooring go down where you can. Book the date once the snag list is agreed rather than in hope — a clean done a day too early gets undone by whoever comes back to finish.
Do you remove the building waste too?
We can, but as a separate clearance quote. We are an Environment Agency registered waste carrier (CBDU300454), so rubble, plasterboard and packaging leave with a waste transfer note rather than in the back of a cleaning van.
Will one visit be enough?
For a single room or a bathroom, usually yes. For a whole-house refurbishment, plan for a rough clean and a final clean — settling dust makes a single visit a false economy, and we will tell you which you need when we scope it.
