What we can show you for Aldershot

  • Aldershot access and housing notes

GU11, GU12 housing stock and loading reality, written for Aldershot rather than the county.

Removals in Aldershot: what actually matters here

The home of the British Army since 1854, a garrison town with a large and unusually mobile rented sector, Victorian terraces around the centre and the Wellesley development rebuilding former military land.

The housing stock is Dense Victorian and Edwardian terraces through North Town, Cargate and the streets behind Victoria Road, much of it rented; interwar and post-war semis at Aldershot Park and Manor Park; former military housing and modern high-density apartments across the Wellesley development; and 1960s and 1970s flat blocks close to the town centre, which decides the tools, protection and crew size we bring to a removals job.

Aldershot divides between the terraces and the new build, and they need different vehicles. The Victorian streets around North Town, Cargate and the town centre have no drives, on-street-only parking and carriageways narrow enough that a large van blocks them while it loads, so we survey the street and often plan a smaller vehicle with a stated carry. Wellesley and the newer apartment blocks have undercroft and permit-controlled parking with height barriers, and access is usually through a booked door rather than the front of the building. Rushmoor Borough Council sets parking, collections and bulky waste; GU12 runs across the county line into Surrey at Ash and Ash Vale, so we confirm which authority an address actually falls under rather than assuming Hampshire.

Aldershot is quoted as a whole: North Town, Cargate, Aldershot Park, Manor Park and Wellesley are on the same removals rate as anywhere else inside GU11 and GU12.

As a mid-sized town built around The Victorian garrison church and the Wellesley estate on the former Aldershot Military Town, Aldershot has a mix of approach roads and loading points, so we confirm parking and carry distance when you book rather than assuming.

What a removals job includes

A house removal is a surveyed, fixed-price job, not an hourly booking: we look at the property, count the volume, work out the access at both ends and quote one number — from £340 for a studio or one-bed, from £520 for a two-bed, and from £780 for a three-bed with a crew of three for the day. Crews carry blankets, straps and trolleys as standard and dismantle and reassemble standard beds and tables as part of the price, with goods in transit cover of £10k per load and £1m public liability in place before anything is loaded.

Before moving day

  • Video or in-person survey, then a fixed written price that does not move unless you add work
  • Volume, crew size and van count planned from the survey rather than guessed on the day
  • Access checked at both ends — parking, lift booking, floor level, stair width
  • A written plan for what gets dismantled and what travels assembled

On the day

  • Floors, banisters and door frames protected on the carry route
  • Furniture blanket-wrapped, mattresses bagged, mirrors and glass carried between boards
  • Standard beds, wardrobes and tables dismantled and rebuilt at the new address
  • Boxes placed in the labelled room, not stacked in the hall

At the new address

  • Large furniture positioned where you want it before the crew leaves
  • Beds rebuilt so the first night does not happen on a mattress on the floor
  • Blankets, boards and our own packaging taken away
  • A signed job sheet recording condition and completion

What changes the price on a removals job

  • Parking, congestion charge and ULEZ where genuinely incurred are itemised at cost and never marked up. They are the only pass-through on a removal.
  • Pianos, safes, large aquariums and full-size gym equipment are specialist lifts quoted separately, and we do not carry fuel, gas bottles or hazardous goods in a stacked load.
  • Volume, not distance, sets a removal price. A cluttered two-bed with a full loft and garage can be a bigger job than a tidy three-bed, which is why we survey rather than price from bedroom count.
  • Access is the second half. No lift above the third floor, a permit-only street, a long carry from the nearest legal stopping point or a lift that must be booked with a building manager all add crew hours — we would rather find that at survey than at 8am on moving day.
  • Completion-day timing is outside anyone's control. Keys held up by a solicitor happen; we plan a realistic start, and the honest answer is that the crew can only load once you can hand over access.

Worth Hiring for Moving services These guys have made my work so easy, they took care of all the items, packed it nicely and they got a big van which was sufficient enough to move my stuffs. I have recently shifted to Kingston and happy to call them for services when needed. Cheers!

Was able to hire a van and driver at very short notice. Great value for money. Driver went above and beyond what he should've been expected to do based on my initial description of the job required. The driver also had excellent communication skills and kept me updated at every stage. Office staff very helpful… Read in full →

Common questions

Aldershot questions, answered.

  • How quickly can you book removals in Aldershot?

Same-week slots are standard in Aldershot, with next-day often available midweek. Month-end tenancy changeovers are the busiest window across Hampshire, so book those a week or two ahead.

  • Why survey instead of just quoting by bedrooms?

Because bedroom count does not tell us volume or access, and those are what the day actually costs. A ten-minute video walk-round gives you a fixed price we stand behind rather than an estimate that moves once the van is half full.

  • Do you pack as well?

Packing is a separate service, priced per packer per hour or as a fixed price by property size, and it can be booked for the whole house, for the kitchen and fragiles only, or not at all. Keeping it separate means you are not paying for packing you intend to do yourself.

  • What is covered if something is damaged?

Goods in transit cover of £10k per load applies to everything in the van, with £1m public liability alongside it. Anything already damaged is noted with you before loading, and anything raised within 24 hours is put right rather than argued about.

  • Can the move run over two days?

Yes, and for larger homes it is often the sensible plan — pack and load non-essentials on day one, complete on day two. It is quoted as one job, with the overnight load staying secured in the van or in storage as agreed in writing.
