What we can show you for Radlett
Radlett access and housing notes
WD7 housing stock and loading reality, written for Radlett rather than the county.
Packing Services in Radlett: what actually matters here
A Hertsmere commuter village on the Thameslink line between St Albans and Elstree, with large detached housing on wide plots either side of Watling Street and green belt all around it.
The housing stock is Large interwar and post-war detached houses on wide plots, 1930s semis off Watling Street, and newer gated developments on the Newberries and Loom Lane sides, which decides the tools, protection and crew size we bring to a packing services job.
Almost every property has a drive, so loading is straightforward, but several developments are gated with narrow entrances and the Watling Street shopping parade has short, enforced bays; station-side roads fill early on weekdays.
Newberries, Loom Lane, Watling Street and Shenley Hill all sit inside the Radlett round. Whichever of WD7 your address falls in, the packing services quote is built the same way.
Radlett is a smaller town; the streets around Radlett station and Aldenham Country Park are the ones where we most often check loading arrangements in advance.
What a packing services job includes
Packing is priced two ways so you only buy what you need: per packer per hour — £30 for one, £55 for two, with a two-hour minimum — or as a fixed price by property size, from £180 for a studio or one-bed, £280 for a two-bed and £420 for a three-bed. Materials are charged at cost, a two-bed materials pack starts at £68, and empty cartons are collected free after the move. Unpacking at the new address is charged the same hourly way, with boxes flattened and taken away.
Materials
- Double-wall cartons, tissue paper, bubble wrap and tape supplied and charged at cost
- Wardrobe cartons so hanging clothes travel on the rail
- Purpose-made cartons for pictures, mirrors, TVs and lamps
- Mattress bags and protective covers for soft furnishings
The pack
- Room-by-room packing with a numbered inventory as we go
- Every carton labelled with its room and its contents, not just a room name
- China, glass and stemware individually wrapped and packed on edge rather than stacked flat
- Electronics packed with their cables, and screens boxed upright
- A clearly marked essentials box kept back for the first night
Options
- Fragile-only pack for the kitchen and glassware, from £120, when you are doing the rest yourself
- Full pack the day before the move so loading starts on time
- Unpacking at the new address at £30 per hour, with cartons flattened and removed
- Free collection of empty cartons after you have finished unpacking
What changes the price on a packing services job
- Packing takes longer than people expect. A studio is typically four to six hours for one packer and a family home a full day for two, which is why the fixed prices are set by property size rather than by an optimistic hour count.
- The kitchen is the room that decides the timings — glassware, china and small appliances are slow, careful work, and it is the room most often left to the last hour by self-packers.
- Boxes you packed yourself are still covered for transit, but we cannot verify the contents or how they were wrapped; where a fragile item matters, let us pack it and it is documented on the inventory.
- Materials are at cost, not a profit line, so over-ordering costs you money for no benefit — we would rather bring a realistic quantity and top up than sell you a pallet of cartons.
- We do not pack fuel, aerosols under pressure, paint or gas bottles, and open food and plants are best moved by you in the car.

Worth Hiring for Moving services These guys have made my work so easy, they took care of all the items, packed it nicely and they got a big van which was sufficient enough to move my stuffs. I have recently shifted to Kingston and happy to call them for services when needed. Cheers!
Ordered two men and large van from Hello vans, price was competitive. The movers were very friendly. Highly recommended.

Radlett questions, answered.
How quickly can you book packing services in Radlett?
Same-week slots are standard in Radlett, with next-day often available midweek. Month-end tenancy changeovers are the busiest window across Hertfordshire, so book those a week or two ahead.
Should I pay for packing or do it myself?
Do the wardrobes and the books yourself if you have the time; get the kitchen, the glassware and anything breakable packed properly. A fragile-only pack from £120 buys most of the protection for a fraction of the full-pack price.
How many boxes will I need?
We estimate from the survey and bring what the property size suggests — a two-bed materials pack starts at £68 — then top up if needed. Materials are charged at cost, so you pay for what you actually use.
Do you take the empty boxes away?
Yes. Empty cartons are collected free after the move, and if you book unpacking they are flattened and taken away on the same visit.
