The build

- Cam locks and dowels seated properly rather than forced, which is what stops a unit racking later
- Drawer runners, soft-close hinges and doors aligned as a set, not one at a time
- Wardrobe internals — rails, shelves, drawer inserts, shoe racks — fitted to the layout you chose
Safety and fixing
- Tall units anchored to the wall with the correct fixing for that wall type, not the generic screw in the box
- Wall scanned before any anchor goes in, so a cable or pipe is found before the drill is
- Feet levelled to the floor, because almost no floor is flat and an unlevel carcass jams the doors

What changes the price on an ikea assembly job
- Plasterboard walls will not hold a loaded wardrobe on the fixings supplied in the flat-pack box. We carry proper cavity anchors and will tell you if the wall needs something heavier.
- Missing or damaged parts are the main cause of a half-finished build. Check the box contents against the parts list before the visit and we can bring an alternative fixing where it is a generic part.
- A PAX run built in place needs clearance to stand the carcass up. In a low-ceilinged room it has to be built lying down and walked upright, which takes longer and needs two people.
- Several items in one visit are cheaper as the half day at £125 or the full day at £240 than as stacked hourly bookings.
- We do not modify or cut flat-pack panels to fit an opening — that voids the manufacturer's guarantee and we will say so rather than do it.
