Waste Disposal across Berkshire

The waste that stalls in Berkshire is the waste none of the six councils' collection or HWRC systems make easy — the post-bathroom pile that needs a booked Bracknell Forest slot, or the garage clear-out a Slough resident cannot take by van without a separate application.

Why Berkshire customers book us

Priced by what actually goes in the van

Volume measured against the van at the point of loading. A quarter load is charged as a quarter load, not rounded up to a half.

You do not touch it

We load from wherever it sits — garden, garage, loft, first floor, behind a gate — rather than requiring it on the kerb first.

No booked HWRC slot needed

Reading, Slough, Bracknell Forest, West Berkshire, Windsor & Maidenhead and Wokingham each require a booked appointment at their tip; a licensed collection replaces that entirely.

Transfer note every time

Registered upper-tier carrier, with the duty-of-care documentation that keeps you legally covered if the waste is later mishandled.

Really pleased to have used Hello Services. We had a shed we needed assembling, and Adam made sure it went up smoothly. It was such a relief to see him assess the base, judge what needed doing, and then at the end of the day a brand new shed was standing strong and tall in… Read in full →

Hannah and her friend were friendly and thoughtful. They were very professional and hard working. They also turned a junk room into a nice bedroom. I cannot thank them or praise them enough.

Towns we cover in Berkshire

Same fixed prices countywide. Towns with their own waste disposal page link straight to it; the rest link to the town hub, where every division we run is listed.

Waste Disposal in Berkshire

Every one of Berkshire's six unitary authorities runs its household recycling centre on a booked-appointment basis, and several add conditions that make a DIY tip run genuinely difficult: Windsor & Maidenhead requires an Advantage Card or photo ID plus a separate online van permit for every visit, West Berkshire charges non-residents per visit at Newtown Road and Padworth and bars them from bringing a van or trailer at all, and none of the six accept anything classed as trade waste. A single builder's-bag-sized job can turn into several separate booked trips under those rules.

That combination is also why duty of care matters here specifically. Under the law, a householder remains liable if waste handed to an unlicensed operator is later fly-tipped, and Berkshire's enforcement teams — across Reading, Slough and the Thames Valley boroughs particularly — do trace loads back through paperwork found in them. Every collection we make is under upper-tier carrier registration with a transfer note issued, which is the document that closes off that exposure.

Berkshire questions

Waste Disposal in Berkshire — your questions.

  • How is waste disposal priced?

By the volume loaded, measured against the van — from a single item up to a full load. The band is confirmed before loading, and if the pile turns out smaller than the photo suggested, you pay the lower band.

  • Do I need to book a council tip slot myself?

Not if we collect it. Berkshire's HWRCs all require a booked appointment and, in some boroughs, a separate van permit — a licensed collection from us replaces that process entirely.

  • Do I need to bring it outside first?

No. We load from the garden, garage, loft or upstairs. Kerbside-only is a limitation of council bulky collections, not of ours.

  • Can you take fridges and mattresses?

Yes, both, per item under WEEE-compliant and mattress-recycling routes. Tell us at booking so the right disposal route is arranged.

  • How do I know the waste is disposed of legally?

You receive a waste transfer note for every load, and our carrier registration can be verified on the public register. Keep the note — it is what protects you under duty of care.
