IKEA and flat-pack furniture assembly in Hackney

Flat-pack and IKEA assembly across Hackney covers 15 areas, and the wall behind the plaster changes street by street. 81% of homes here are flats, so half the diary is conversion-flat lath and dot-and-dab board, and half is solid brick and timber stud. Every anti-tip strap goes into something structural, never into the board alone.

How it works

How a Hackney assembly visit works

  1. Send the list, get a fixed priceTell us what is in the pile — model names, box counts or just a photo. Every Clapton quote is itemised per unit, so you can see what each build costs before you accept it.
  2. Access sorted for E5Narrow terraced streets, permit bays and marsh-side roads that flood after heavy rain. We confirm the carry route for two-metre panels and reserve the kerb so the boxes move once.
  3. Built, anchored, packaging goneDust sheets down, every unit built and squared, doors and drawers adjusted, an SDS-drilled hole and a screwbolt in E5, set clear of scanned reinforcement and buried cable, a median age of 32 in this neighbourhood shapes what gets ordered here, then the cardboard flattened and taken away.

Scope

What is included in Hackney

Every Hackney booking includes the left-hand list. The right is work that belongs to a registered trade or a separate booking — we say so before you book, not on the day.

Included in every visit

  • Every unit on your Clapton list built, squared and levelled to the floor in the room it belongs in
  • Anti-tip anchoring where the item needs it: an SDS-drilled hole and a screwbolt in E5, set clear of scanned reinforcement and buried cable, a median age of 32 in this neighbourhood shapes what gets ordered here
  • Doors, hinges, drawer runners and sliding tracks adjusted so nothing drifts or catches, noted on the Clapton job sheet so the next visit starts from it
  • Standard on Hackney bookings: a stud, pipe and cable scan before any fixing goes into a wall, allowing for the 32% of E5 homes that are privately rented and need the landlord's sign-off
  • London Borough of Hackney permits or bay suspensions where E5 needs one

Not included — and why

  • New electrical circuits, consumer-unit work or anything notifiable under Part P — that belongs to a registered electrician, which we refer on to the right trade in Clapton
  • Gas appliance connection, including hobs and cookers, which is Gas Safe work, handled by London Borough of Hackney or a specialist contractor instead
  • Plumbing in a sink, tap or integrated appliance as part of a kitchen run (we can book that separately), and we will say so before the E5 visit rather than on the day
  • Manufacturer spare parts — missing dowels, cam locks or damaged panels are ordered at cost with the receipt, outside the fixed price on Clapton bookings
  • Cutting into a structural wall or altering an opening to make a unit fit, quoted separately if you need it arranged in E5

The complete item list, anchoring matrix and scope policy sit on one page: assembly reference.

Why Hello Services

Why book assembly in Hackney with us

Missing parts do not stop us

Dowels, cam locks and common fittings are in the van on E5 jobs, with 32% of E5 homes being privately rented, so a short-shipped pack still finishes the same day.

DBS-checked and insured

£1m public liability and a fitter you would be happy to leave in the flat while you work on Hackney bookings, with Hackney parking rules in play.

Independent of every retailer

We build any brand's flat-pack, so the advice you get is about your furniture, not a shop's upsell on the Clapton rounds, with this being a short walk from Clapton (Overground).

Per-item prices

Parking and permits
Narrow terraced streets, permit bays and marsh-side roads that flood after heavy rain. London Borough of Hackney visitor permits and bay suspensions are arranged and paid for by us, so long boxes are carried once, not twice.
Charging zones
Hackney sits outside the Congestion Charge zone and inside ULEZ. Our vans are ULEZ compliant and that cost is never added to a E5 invoice.
Access and lifts
76% of homes around Clapton are flats, so goods-lift booking and stair carries are planned before the slot rather than discovered on the day.
Packaging removal
Flattened cardboard, polystyrene and strapping leave in the van at the end of every E5 visit, at no extra charge.

Wall plugs, through-fixings, resin anchors, hollow-wall anchors and anti-tip straps come out of the van and are inside the price. Replacement dowels, cam locks and manufacturer spare parts are ordered at cost with the receipt attached to your invoice.

Walls and anchoring

What holds an anti-tip strap in Hackney

The furniture is the same everywhere. The wall behind it is not, and that is what decides whether a loaded wardrobe stays upright in Hackney.

Access
so we book a delivery window, over deck access or a single lift shared with every other flat, which is what a 76% flat share across the ONS neighbourhood covering Clapton actually produces

Really pleased with our house move. The guys came on time, loaded everything carefully like a huge jigsaw! Our only criticism is that we needed a few items disassembled to get on the… Read in full →

Sulltan and Adam were absolutely brilliant. They assembled some complicated IKEA items perfectly. They were really helpful and left assembly areas clean and tidy. I have no hesitation in recommending their services.
