Waterlooville in practice

Waterlooville is one of the most predictable towns in south Hampshire to price, because almost all of it was built after the war on layouts that assumed private cars. Across PO7 and PO8 you get estate roads, drives, garage courts and turning heads, so a full-house removal, a garage clearance or an after-builders clean on an extension is quoted on volume and floors rather than on how far the crew has to carry. That is a real difference from Portsmouth a few miles south.

Two things change the plan. The town centre is pedestrianised with timed vehicle access, so the flats above and behind the shops load from service areas within set hours — we agree that window when you book, not on the morning. And the PO7 villages at Denmead and Hambledon are older and narrower, with flint walls, tight gateways and limited turning, which rules out the largest vehicle and is where most of the probate and downsizing clearances in this part of the borough come from.

Havant Borough Council sets parking, bin collections and the chargeable bulky-waste pickup for the town, and Hampshire County Council runs the recycling centres, which need a permit for a van, pick-up or trailer and take no trade waste. For a couple of bulky items the council collection is often the cheaper route and we will tell you when that is the case. Clearances leave through a licensed transfer station with the waste transfer note.

Waterlooville at a glance

Housing stock
A pedestrianised post-war town centre with flats above the shops; extensive 1960s to 1980s estate housing through Cowplain, Crookhorn, Purbrook and Wecock Farm; modern development at Berewood and the Newlands edge; and older detached and village property through Denmead, Hambledon and Clanfield
Access on the day
Waterlooville is mostly modern and mostly easy: estate roads with drives, garages and turning heads across PO7 and PO8, which is what a removals or clearance crew wants. Three things need checking. The town centre is pedestrianised with timed vehicle access and the flats above the shops load from service areas rather than the front. The Wecock Farm and older flat-block car parks carry height barriers. And the PO7 villages at Denmead and Hambledon run to narrow lanes with flint walls and limited turning. Havant Borough Council sets parking, collections and bulky waste for the town; disposal is through Hampshire County Council's permit-controlled sites, no trade waste accepted.

Common questions

Waterlooville questions, answered.

  • Which parts of Waterlooville do you cover?

Every address in PO7, PO8, plus the surrounding Hampshire villages and neighbouring Havant, Portsmouth, Gosport, Fareham. There is no travel surcharge inside that area.

  • Do you work on Waterlooville's type of housing?

Yes. A pedestrianised post-war town centre with flats above the shops; extensive 1960s to 1980s estate housing through Cowplain, Crookhorn, Purbrook and Wecock Farm; modern development at Berewood and the Newlands edge; and older detached and village property through Denmead, Hambledon and Clanfield We size the crew, the van and the kit to the property rather than quoting one flat template for the whole county.

  • Where will the crew park in Waterlooville?

We confirm the loading point with you when the job is booked, so nothing is decided on the doorstep on the day.

  • How quickly can you get to PO7?

Most Waterlooville jobs are booked within two to three days, and we hold same-week slots for end-of-tenancy cleans and clearances tied to a fixed check-out or completion date.
