Brighton work is defined by the conversion flat. Regency and Victorian houses across BN1, BN2 and BN3 were subdivided decades ago into one-floor flats sharing a front door, a hallway and a staircase that was built for a single household. The measurement that matters is the half-landing turn, not the room. Before a removal or a large delivery we ask about the floor, the lift (there usually is not one) and the staircase, and where a piece will not turn we say so in advance and offer the alternatives rather than finding out with a sofa wedged on the landing.

Parking is the second half of every Brighton quote. Controlled zones cover almost the whole city, bay suspensions have to be applied for days ahead, and enforcement is fast.
