Most cleaning price guides are built on guesses or a handful of quotes. This one is built on our own records: more than 30,000 completed cleaning jobs carried out by Hello Services across the UK since 2016, including every completed job synced up to 8 October 2026. Below we share what customers actually paid in 2026, where the work happens and what pushes a price up or down.
How we built these figures
Every figure comes from completed jobs in our job records. We left out re-cleans, site visits, internal diary entries and jobs with no price, so the numbers reflect real paid work. Prices shown are medians – the middle job when all jobs are lined up from cheapest to dearest – because a median is not distorted by a few very large or very small jobs. Prices include VAT and are rounded to the nearest pound.
From 27 September 2026 alone we added 244 newly completed jobs, so the 2026 figures are as current as our records allow.
Typical cleaning prices in 2026
These are the median prices for jobs completed between 1 January and 8 October 2026:
| Service | Jobs in 2026 | Typical price |
|---|---|---|
| End of tenancy cleaning | 2,070 | £265 |
| Deep cleaning | 1,627 | £285 |
| Carpet cleaning | 1,541 | £300 |
| Oven and appliance cleaning | 861 | £278 |
| Upholstery cleaning | 598 | £284 |
| After builders cleaning | 276 | £289 |
Many jobs combine more than one service – for example an end of tenancy clean with carpet and oven cleaning added – so a job can appear in more than one row. That is why carpet and oven medians look higher than you might expect for a single item: they often sit inside a bigger booking.
The long-term picture
Across all years, the median prices are a little lower than in 2026: end of tenancy cleaning £230, deep cleaning £260, carpet cleaning £288, oven cleaning £245, upholstery £284 and after builders cleaning £270. The gap reflects rising wages, supplies and travel costs, and a shift towards larger homes and combined bookings.
End of tenancy cleaning is by far our most-booked service, with 14,753 jobs on record, followed by deep cleaning (10,476), carpet cleaning (7,330), oven cleaning (3,985), upholstery cleaning (2,732) and after builders cleaning (1,767).
Where the work happens
London accounts for the largest share of our work, with more than 10,000 completed jobs. Outside the capital, the busiest areas are the West Midlands (1,725 jobs), Surrey (1,588), Scotland (1,182), Hampshire (1,043), Hertfordshire (1,034), Greater Manchester (931) and Kent (913). You can find local prices, recent jobs and reviews for your area in our locations directory.
Size of the property
The number of bedrooms and bathrooms is the single biggest factor. A studio flat costs far less than a four-bedroom house with two bathrooms, simply because there is more to clean.
Condition
Heavy grease in the kitchen, limescale in bathrooms or a property left empty for months all add work. After builders cleaning costs more than a standard clean because fine dust settles everywhere, including inside cupboards and on skirting boards.
Add-ons
Carpets, ovens, fridges, sofas and mattresses are the most common extras. Adding them to one booking is usually better value than booking separate visits.
Location
Prices in London and the South East tend to be higher than elsewhere because of travel, parking and congestion charges. Our local pages show figures for your own town where we have enough jobs to be reliable.
End of tenancy cleaning: the most important clean
With more than 2,000 end of tenancy cleans completed this year, this is where customers care most about getting it right, because a deposit is at stake. Landlords and letting agents check kitchens, bathrooms, skirting boards and inside appliances against the check-in inventory. Read our guide to what landlords check at the end of a tenancy and how to avoid deposit deductions.
Deep cleaning: when a regular clean is not enough
Deep cleaning is our second most-booked service. Customers book it before selling, after an illness, before a new baby or simply when a home needs a proper reset. It covers areas a routine clean misses, such as behind appliances, inside cupboards and descaling. See what is included in a deep clean.
What customers tell us
Alongside job records, we have recently added thousands of new reviews from Trustpilot, Google and our own customer feedback. The themes repeat again and again: customers value punctual, polite cleaners, attention to detail in kitchens and bathrooms, and clear prices with no surprises. You can read them in full on our reviews page.
How to get the best price
- Book early. Popular dates at the end and start of the month fill quickly.
- Combine services. Add carpets or the oven to your main clean rather than booking separately.
- Be accurate. Give the correct number of rooms and mention heavy dirt up front so the price is right first time.
- Clear the space. Remove belongings before the team arrives so they can clean every surface.
- Use our checklist. Our cleaning checklist shows exactly what is covered.
