Ringwood in practice

Ringwood sits on the main road between Southampton and Bournemouth, so timing matters here more than street width. In the town, the split is simple: Poulner and the modern development north and east load at the door, with drives, garages and turning heads, while the old market-town core around the Market Place has narrow streets, short-stay bays and very little loading space, where we agree a stated stopping point before the booking is confirmed.

The forest edge is a different kind of work. Burley, Crow, Ellingham and Harbridge bring detached, equestrian and smallholding property on single-track lanes, much of it crossing unfenced open forest where ponies and cattle graze on the road. That is a real constraint on vehicle size and on how long a run takes, not scenery, and we build it into the quote. Those addresses also supply most of our larger clearances here — outbuildings, stables, garages and gardens rather than house interiors.

New Forest District Council sets parking, collections and the chargeable bulky-waste pickup, and Hampshire County Council's recycling centres need a permit for vans, pick-ups and trailers and refuse trade waste. For two or three items the council collection is frequently the cheaper answer and we will say so before quoting a clearance. When we do clear, everything goes to a licensed transfer station with the waste transfer note.

Ringwood at a glance

Housing stock
A Georgian and Victorian market-town core around the Market Place and Southampton Road; Victorian and interwar housing through Hightown and the streets east of the centre; large post-war and modern estate development at Poulner and the northern edge; and detached, forest-edge and equestrian property through Burley, Crow, Ellingham and Harbridge
Access on the day
Ringwood is easy on the estates and demanding at the edges. Poulner and the modern development north and east of the centre have drives, garages and turning heads. The old market-town core has narrow streets, short-stay bays and limited loading, so the stop is planned rather than improvised. The forest-edge lanes at Burley, Crow and Harbridge are the real variable: single-track, unfenced in places, with cattle and ponies grazing loose, which is a genuine speed and access constraint rather than a decorative detail. New Forest District Council sets parking, collections and bulky waste; disposal is Hampshire County Council's permit-controlled sites, which accept no trade waste.

Common questions

Ringwood questions, answered.

  • Which parts of Ringwood do you cover?

Every address in BH24, plus the surrounding Hampshire villages and neighbouring New Milton, Lymington, Totton, Romsey. There is no travel surcharge inside that area.

  • Do you work on Ringwood's type of housing?

Yes. A Georgian and Victorian market-town core around the Market Place and Southampton Road; Victorian and interwar housing through Hightown and the streets east of the centre; large post-war and modern estate development at Poulner and the northern edge; and detached, forest-edge and equestrian property through Burley, Crow, Ellingham and Harbridge We size the crew, the van and the kit to the property rather than quoting one flat template for the whole county.

  • Where will the crew park in Ringwood?

We confirm the loading point with you when the job is booked, so nothing is decided on the doorstep on the day.

  • How quickly can you get to BH24?

Most Ringwood jobs are booked within two to three days, and we hold same-week slots for end-of-tenancy cleans and clearances tied to a fixed check-out or completion date.
